saturday.

"so, when is princess goth coming over?" jack asked as he sat down on the couch.

"first of all, she's not a goth princess. second, she's not coming over, just picking me up. i hope." luke corrected his brother and bit on his lip ring.

"what do you mean, you hope?" jack frowned.

"she's sort of mad at me." luke mumbled and awkwardly fiddled with a pillow.

"you're not even dating her, yet you messed up?" his brother chuckled, shaking his head a bit.

"something like that." luke sighed and leaned his head back.

he remained slouching on the couch for quite a while, and hoped desperately that she wouldn't stand him up. they hadn't spoken during friday either, except for a simple 'hello' or 'excuse me' while passing each other. it was rather sad.

just when he was about to give up and go upstairs, an extremely faint knock was heard against the door. and luke sprinted up from the couch, towards the door and opened it quickly.

on the other side stood andie, a blank expression on her face. she hugged her own elbows and seemed so... dull and lifeless. he almost felt bad for thinking that.

"hey, princess goth." jack appeared beside luke and smiled. but she didn't return the smile, not this time.

"are you aware of the fact that goths originally was a germanic tribe, who had a power over north europe, especially after plundering the city of rome — that way earning the title as barbarians? plus, they rarely even wore black garments. and i'm no princess."

andie cocked her head to the side when she said the last part and shifted weight from one foot to the other one. luke raised his eyebrows and glanced at jack, who stood astonished over the answer.

"that's... a fact i didn't know." jack said awkwardly before leaving the situation.

"was that rude of me?" andie asked and let her arms fall down. "i'm tired."

"no, it wasn't." luke laughed briefly and motioned for her to step out again.

andie cleared her throat as she walked out and glanced back at him. in all honesty, guilt for being so distant was eating her up, and that only made her colder. luke followed her down the street and put his hands down his pockets.

"so, where i'm taking you is a secret place. you can't tell anyone or show anyone else. alright?" she mumbled and started pulling her hair up in a ponytail.

"is it narnia?" he joked, trying to ease the tension.

"ha-ha." the corners of her mouth twitched upwards. even if it wasn't a proper smile, he smiled himself and licked his lips.

they walked for a while in silence, and then andie took a turn and began entering a secluded forest. luke frowned, but followed anyway, and took in the green environment. it was beautiful, but he couldn't understand why she would take him there.

passing a wooden bridge, she stopped by a big tree and brushed her fingertips against it. he watched her in awe and then noticed the peeks of sun shining through some of the tree branches, lighting up the place in a cool way.

"see? it's narnia." he smiled, and now, she turned her head and returned the smile.

"if you want to call it narnia, then you can do it. i don't have a name for this place but i come here often. a lot of times with crystal, because she loves it here." andie shared with him and sat down on a little bench, letting her hair tumble down against her chest and shoulders from being in a previous ponytail.
