andie.
~:~
saturday.
she jogged down to the street, increasing her speed for each minute that passed. it had been awhile since she last ran for the joy, there was always something to do.
andie took a turn, to run on the most empty part of the beach, smiling when her feet barely sunk down in the sand for each step. she couldn't be happier over the fact that she was light dressed — a pair of black soccer shorts and a simple, black sports bra with them.
the only thing she regretted was bringing her phone with her. not that she would listen to music, but to keep check on the time — considering she had a date with luke later.
when a random guy whistled from beside her, she continued jogging but turned her head to the side, glancing back at him, just to roll her eyes.
what she didn't expect though, was to clash into someone when looking forward again and stumble forward until she fell, bringing the person with her.
"jesus christ, are you bloody blind?" she groaned and dusted off some sand from her legs and stomach, before standing up.
"who looks back while running?" a familiar voice said from behind her. turning around, she faced dylan and shook her head.
"hey, this was your fault." she smiled and folded her arms together.
"maybe. i didn't know you were a runner." he laughed and pulled his fingers through his hair.
"gotta' keep myself healthy in one way. and anyway, how do you think i got this body?" she exhaled and raised her eyebrows slightly, a weak smirk playing on her lips. "do you know what time it is?"
"please, you've always had a rocking body." he rolled his eyes, as if she said something stupid, and pulled up his phone briefly. "half past two."
"thanks." she smiled and released her arms by her sides. "anyway, what's up?"
"besides from bumping into you? nothing much. you?" he frowned with his lips and cocked his head to the side.
"same here. work, school, more work, and luke." she shrugged while putting a hand on her hip.
"right, how are you two?" dylan asked with a frown and stretched his arms towards her for a short moment.
"we're good." she answered shortly and nodded. "it wasn't really his fault, so... and thank you for calling me, otherwise i probably wouldn't have went to see him."
"you're welcome." he laughed and crossed his arms against his chest. "i'm glad you're working things out."
"thanks." she made a weird face — smiling wryly while frowning and gazing to the side.
"i won't hold you much longer, but when do you graduate?" he asked out of the blue, catching her off guard slightly.
"december eight... why?" she asked suspiciously and eyed him.
"well, i was just giving it a thought, to maybe, you know, attend it since we're, i don't know, acquaintances? former friends? anyways—"
"dylan." she cut him off with a wide smile. "we're friends, and yes you can come."
"great." he laughed and scratched the back of his neck. "have a nice run. and sorry for knocking you down."
"no worries." she smiled and nudged his shoulder with hers as she jogged by him.
