Selena

I was right. I did have a class with Miguel, but I never noticed because he sat in the very back. I never really payed attention to my classmates anyways, they're obnoxious.

Mr. Hugh's was on his laptop while we were doing a worksheet. It was extremely easy, so when I was done I put it to the side and checked my pockets for my phone. I groaned lightly when I realized I left it at home. Now what was I going to do for the next five minutes? I put my elbow on the desk and rested my cheek on the palm of my hand.

"Selena?" I heard a familiar voice say. I looked back and saw Miguel right behind me. He stood up and took a seat next to me.

The teacher didn't mind if we moved around and talked quietly. He just wanted us to finish our work, and to not be annoying. His words, not mine.

"I knew I had a class with you, but I didn't notice because you're so quiet" I said, trying to make conversation. His eyes darted to my lips, then towards my eyes again.

He smiled lightly, "Yeah, it's nice to know I have a class with you". I fiddled with my pencil and nodded. I didn't know this was going to be awkward.

"So tell me about yourself" He said when he noticed the awkward tension.

I hummed and thought of what to say. I didn't know if I was supposed to talk about my life or my favorite color, "Uh, you say something, because I have nothing in mind".

"I'm Miguel Hernandez, I'm a baseball player" He paused and swallowed, "My mom left my father and I when I was a newborn" He stared at the ground and I froze, I was not expecting him to tell me personal things like that. I gave him a sympathetic smile and rubbed my eye.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make things awkward" He said quickly and I simply nodded slowly, "It's fine really".

He was about to speak but the bell rang and his eyes widened, "I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow" He leaned in and gave me a hug. I slowly hugged back and patted his back. I was certainly not used to this.

He grabbed his bag and walked out the room along with the rest of the class mates. He seemed like an extremely nice guy. I shook my head with a smile on my face and grabbed my bag. I made sure to turn in my paper before I left the class and walked out. Miguel was on his way back to the classroom so I almost bumped into him, "Woah" I chuckled.

"Hey, thank god you didn't leave" He said a little out of breath, "I just needed to tell you something". He handed me a white little paper and I took it, "It's my number" He scratched the back of his neck.

"Oh, thanks" I smiled, and shoved it in my bag. He smiled shyly and began walking away. I looked to my left and saw Justin walking away. I furrowed my eyebrows and followed him.

Why didn't he wait for me like he usually did? I walked a little quicker trying to catch up to him, "Wait Justin!" I said loudly, but I don't think he heard me because he didn't turn around. Or maybe he just ignored me? I ran up to him and grabbed his shoulder.

He finally stopped walking and glared at me, "What?" He said, the anger visible in his voice.

My mouth slightly opened, "You didn't wait for me" I said quietly and felt pathetic all of a sudden.
