Chapter 25

Selena:

I was currently sitting across from Emily at Starbucks. It was 6 in the morning and school didn't start until 7:35.

We woke up early and didn't know what to do so I called her and invited her here.

She yawned, making her eyes watery then drank from her coffee "I swear he was jealous" She argued with me.

We were talking about how supposably Justin was jealous when I was talking to Evan yesterday after school "Okay sure" I laughed and rest my chin on the palm of my hand.

She shrugged and sat criss cross on the chair. Like, how can she do that? I would probably rip my jeans if I did that.

But then again, she was just wearing some faded hight waisted shorts with a blue top and a white cardigan with her black sandals.

I looked down at my outfit and felt a little insecure around her. I wore light blue jeans and a black shirt from the Beatles.

"I can't wait for the dance" She giggled and looked around "we're going to have so much fun".

"I'm not going"

She gave me a confused look "why not? It's going to be so much fun"

I nodded "yeah but me and my friend Stacey got in a fight because I didn't want to go and I bet she's going so.." I trailed off and she nodded.

"I've seen her around. She's been hanging around with Kimberly a lot lately" She said, making my eyes go wide.

"What!" I screeched, getting a few stares from people in here.

She nodded slowly "they seem to get along quite well".

Why in the world would she hang out with Kimberly? She knew that Kimberly hated my guts.

I chewed on my straw "Oh well. I'm just going to stay home and see if Justin wants to hangout with me"

Emily smirked "With Justin aye"

I nodded, and felt my face heat up, making her smile grow bigger "yeah"

"Is that Evan?" She looked behind me and I turned around, making eye contact with him.

He smiled and started making his way to us. What is he doing here at this time?

"Yep that's him" I whispered.

He sat down next to us "hey Selena and-" He looked at Emily waiting for her to say her name.

"Emily" she smiled politely.

"Ah, what are you guys doing here so early?" He asked with a look of curiosity.

"We woke up early and I invited her here" I said, and stared at his face when he wasn't looking. I know it sounds creepy but he was just so attractive.

Nothing compared to Justin though.

Why did I just compare Evan to Justin? I shook my head and finished my drink in one long sip. I checked my time and it was 6:30.

1 more hour. I shouldn't have woken up this early. I sighed and watched as Emily and Evan getting along really well. They looked like long lost best friends.

A pang of jealousy hit me. Not because I was jealous of him talking to her, but because I didn't have that with him anymore.

All because of me saying yes to being his girlfriend and breaking up with him. Now it was kind of awkward between us.

"Selena?" Emily touched my shoulder gently and Evan was staring at me with a stern look.

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You were drooling and your eyes were wide open. I got scared for a bit" she laughed quietly.

"Really?" I ran my my arm over my mouth and looked at my sticky saliva. I grinned up at them "sorry, I spaced out".

"Thinking of Justin?" She winked and saw Evan stiffen for a moment. I shook my head at her, hoping she would get the hint not to talk about him now.

She furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Evan then back at me. She cleared her throat "guys, I have to pee" she stood up and scurried away.

So she just leaves me?

Evan's phone started ringing making me sigh in relief. At least now I won't have to talk to him.

He muttered an ok and stood up. He hung up then looked down at me "I have to leave, see you at school. Tell Emily I said bye" He leaned down.

I froze when his warm lips met my cheeks. He smiled and left. I shook away the goosebumps and stared at my empty cup.

I looked toward the bathroom and saw Emily peek her head and mouthed "is he gone?"

I nodded, and she walked back.

"Why'd you leave me" I hissed.

She chuckled "sorry. I freaked out"

Emily and I were at school, talking about random things until the bell rang.

"See you later" She gave me a small smile and walked away.

I sighed and shut my locker. I began walking to my class and saw Justin walking to his. He had his shades on, and had a black shirt with black jeans.

I glanced down at his arm and saw all his tattoos, making him look ten times more sexier.

He looked over and saw him smirk then walk my way "checking me out from the distance?" He said once he was walking beside me.

"No. Just looking at how you're tattoos make you look stupid" I muttered. Hoping he would believe me.

He looked down at me "really?" He grabbed his arm and furrowed his eyebrows.

"No" I chuckled "you look ... good" I mumbled.

He sighed in relief "good. For a second I was about to run to my locker and put my jacket back on"

"It looks nice"

He looked at his arms and squinted at a tattoo. It was a joker.

"When did I get this one?" He examined it.

I looked at him "You don't remember when you got it?"

He shook his head "not really. I was probably drunk." He shrugged.

"And you're not shocked or at least a little worried?"

He shook his head "not really, I mean, it looks nice right?" I nodded and he smirked "then why should I be worried?

"I don't kn-" my voice was cut off by the late bell.

Shit.

"I'm late! I'm in so much trouble" I said worriedly.

He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek and looked around.

All of a sudden he started walking toward a wall. I followed him close behind and saw him stop in front of the wall.

I peeked over his shoulder and felt my stomach drop. He wouldn't....

No no no.

He was going to pull the fire alarm.

"You won't be late if I do this" he said in a persuasive voice and tugged at the alarm playfully.

He was right but that still seemed kind of risky.

"I don't kn-" I was cut off by the long pull and the loud ringing.

He pulled the alarm.

That fucker.

We heard voices coming our way and he quickly whipped his face to mine.

"Run" he breathed.
