I was dancing along with Selena on the dance floor until I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket.
I quickly checked it and noticed it was one of the guys from the gang. I looked down at Selena to see her dancing.
"Selena I'll be back. I'm going to answer this phone call." I said loudly next to her ear so I could make sure she'd hear me.
She nodded and continued moving along to the beats of the song.
I walked over to a corner where it was kind of quiet and answered it, "What do you want?"
"Boss we need you here now."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Why? What's wrong?"
I heard yelling in the background and sirens, "Two of our people were killed. We were outnumbered by the other gang. Our van was exploded and us five are currently in this alley near the Clinton Street." He said and I ran my fingers through my hair.
I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to leave Selena alone here, but I couldn't take her either. I promised her I wouldn't get involved in this again.
"I'll be there in fifteen. Stay put." I said sternly and hung up.
I shoved my phone in my pocket and walked back to where Selena was and didn't see her anywhere. I looked around until I found her talking to some guy. I clenched my jaw and stormed over to them.
"Hey babe." I wrapped my arm around Selena's waist tightly and glared at the guy in front of me, "And you are?"
"Daniel." He extended his hand but I just looked down at it.
He pursed his lips and shoved his hand in his pocket.
Selena looked around awkwardly, "Um, who called you?"
