This is 5 years in the future-

"I'm sorry, Matthew. She passed away during the birthing process, but your baby girl made it." The doctor said, sympathy written all over your face.

I let the tears flow down my face as I thought of my beautiful beautiful Lia. "Can I see her?" I managed to choke out, staring off into the distance. The nurse nodded and led me to a room, the room that held my dead wife.

I grabbed the handle and turned it, closing my eyes with fear to see the sight in front of me. Lia's brown hair lay across her body and she looked peaceful.

She was so young, only 23 years old of a few weeks ago. She never got to experience her one life dream, raising a child.

A nurse handed me the baby which immediately took the attention away from Lias dead body.

She's finally in peace now, Matt. Take care of your daughter, do it for her.

I smiled down at the beautiful sleeping little girl. Her eyes opened to reveal bright blue orbs. I looked at them in amazement, they looked just like my grandmothers eyes. I noticed a speck of brown in them much like her mother's eye color.

"Beautiful." I smiled at her, "you're so beautiful.". Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw a figure of a girl.

I looked up to see a girl around 15 with half brown half blonde shoulder length hair. She was wearing crazy clothes and had a necklace on her that said 'crybaby'.

My eyes widened as I remembered Lia describing a young girl named Melanie who called herself 'crybaby'. It was part of her schizophrenia, the angel that kept her from suicide.

I smiled at her and mouthed a 'thank you'. Melanie nodded in appreciation before disappearing into thin air.

"Sir, you can fill out the birth certificate while we clean up your baby girl." The nurse took my baby from my arms and placed a paper with a pen on the desk.

I sat down at the desk, staring back at Lia with sadness written on my face. "I love you." I cried, turning back to the paper and grabbing the pen with shaky hands.

Lia had no clue what to name the baby and said it was up to me. I thought back to Lia, smiling and laughing. Then I thought back to her struggling.

Flashback-

"The only thing keeping me going is you and Melanie."

-

I looked back at her and saw Melanie appear again, I knew what to do. I put the pen to the paper and began to write.

Name: Melanie Cecelia Espinosa
Mother: Cecelia Marie Espinosa
Father: Matthew lee Espinosa
Birth date: June 27th 2021, 4:25 pm

I set the pen down just as nurse walked in, "you're done?". I nodded and handed her the paper, taking Melanie in My arms.

"I'm so sorry for your loss." She said, looking at me sadly. "I am too." I said.

Don't worry, Lia, I'll be with you soon enough.
