Aria's POV
He's here. Hades is here. And I'm going to be facing him soon.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I strode into the kingdom with the others right behind me. I clenched my fists, trying to get rid of my fear.
I wonder if Dragon will hate me for this. I don't know the kind of relationship he has with his father, but if it is possibly a good one, then what am I supposed to do? If I win, then I'll be known to him as the girl that killed his father. He'll never feel the same for me. But it's selfish to want him to like me back. I'm doing this for a good reason.
But even though I say that, I still don't know how to go about this. I want him to like me back. Feelings are selfish.
Despite how I feel though, I need to do this. I'm sorry for this, Dragon. I really am.
I tried to hold in the tears as I walked throughout the kingdom, keeping an eye out for the tall figure that Hades has.
He is definitely related to Dragon. Both of them are tall. Dragon isn't as tall as him, but both of them are tall. Both of them have pale skin. Both of them have dark black hair and midnight black eyes.
Even though they share those features, they're two completely different people. They're still related though. I wish they weren't.
I know I'm supposed to kill Hades, but the idea of killing the father of the guy I like is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure if I can do this anymore.
But.. it's what I have to do. It's what everyone expects me to do. It's what I want to do.
Hades deserves it. He deserves to get his ass beaten. He deserves all of it. But how will this effect Dragon if he finds out about this?
Stop thinking about it, Aria. You need to do this no matter what. If you just let this slide, he'll go after everyone you love. He won't stop until he has you dead. Look at how much he has accomplished.
Ugh. I really don't deserve to be liking Dragon. If he doesn't like me back, then good for me. I need to learn.
You know that's not what you want. But.. it's the only thing left that I think I need to do when it comes to him.
''Are you okay, Aria?'' Bridget questioned. ''You haven't said a single thing. You're worrying us, you know.''
I lifted my head up. ''I'm fine, sorry.''
''Are you really?'' Nate pushed.
''Yes I am, now just shut the fuck up, alright?'' I told him off in anger. I can't do this anymore.
''Woah, calm down.'' Logan uttered to me.
I really do need to calm down. See, I'm letting my emotions get the best of me. Will I be able to beat Hades like this? If I keep this up, I won't be able to use Alizia's advice because of my mindset. I need to keep it together.
I need to keep pushing on.
I heard another footstep that made my head turn to see the entrance to another room.
He might be behind these doors.
I quietly sneaked up to the entrance, grabbing the door handles. My mind started going berserk as I pulled open the door.
Heat immediately slapped me in the face and I could hear the bubbling, boiling lava. My eyes looked around to see the intense heat source and I instantly began to sweat. But despite the heat, I stepped inside the room. The others followed in behind me and were wiping their foreheads due to the temperature.
I looked up at the platform and he was standing there. Hades.
My eyes started to shake as I stared up at his tall figure. He gave off this cold feeling that made my stomach churn.
He's here, standing in front of me. Yet I'm more scared than I was last time.
Maybe it's because this feels, no, it is, the real thing now. Right now, we're going to start fighting.
''Welcome, Aria Matthews.'' Hades smirked and the darkness in his eyes were swimming. ''I see you've found my back up spot. Although, that's all thanks to Alizia since you cannot do anything yourself, seeing as you had to use that useless bitch.''
''That useless bitch was the one who stood behind you for who knows how fucking long.'' I told him angrily. ''So, how dare you even say that bullshit?! You're lucky enough someone stayed on your side.''
''Stayed on my side? No one was on my side in the first place.'' He chuckled. ''The only reason they were on my side is because they're cowards. Physically, they were on my side, but mentally they were elsewhere.'' He took a step forward. ''The only person who was on my side was my son. And you were the one that took him away from me.''
Dragon..
''Where's your evidence of that, huh?!'' I screamed. ''What would I even want to do with your son?! I'm only his friend that happens to like him!''
Hades froze, and so did I. Did I really just say that?
No, no, no, I'm letting my emotions get the best of me right before he starts attacking. I need to watch him carefully or else he'll catch me off guard.
''You,'' He laughed darkly and coldly. It sent shivers down my spine. ''How dare someone like you say that?! You only want him because he's my son! And I have my sources! I know you were the one who took him away from me! Don't act fucking innocent, Aria Matthews! All of you elementals are just lying idiots! You only care about yourselves!''
''That's a very ironic statement, isn't it?!'' I shouted at him. Calm down, Aria, you need to focus on him. He's mad, it's likely that he'll start attacking you soon.
''Don't say that about Aria!'' Nate screamed. ''She's not like you! She has a big heart!''
''Did I say that you could talk, brother of Aria Matthews?! You're related to her, so you're just another lying manipulating cunt too!'' Hades shouted in fury.
''How dare you fucking talk to him like that?!'' Bridget yelled at him.
Hades sent all of us flying into the wall. My back crashed into the hard surface and I held the scream of agony back in my throat.
''Shut it, now.'' Hades threatened in a cold, cruel tone. ''I did not ask for either of you to speak. This is between me and that brute.'' He death glared over at me.
I started to get goosebumps once his eyes landed on me and I swallowed the lump in my throat.
Don't give into the fear. You need to beat him.
You let him catch you off guard because the others were yelling at him. I'm already failing. But I can still win this.
I wobbly stood up from the ground, my eyes transitioning from turquoise to fire.
Since the fire orb is in this room, my fire powers will get more stronger.
''I'm fucking done with you.'' I snapped my fingers, fire appearing from my fist and flaming into the air. ''Let's settle this.''
I'm sorry, Dragon.
