''I've decided.''
Soul exhaled a scarf of smoke, chuckling as he lowered the cigarette from his mouth. His eyes narrowed on the Olympian God. ''I was starting to think you bailed out on me, Zeus.''
''I would never. It just.. took a while, that's all.'' Zeus responded thoughtfully.
''Right.'' Soul raised up from his throne, dropping the blunt carelessly. He walked forward, stepping on it as he approached him. ''So.. which brat have you chosen?''
''Hold on, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I'd like to know your plan first.'' Zeus straightened his back in attempt to make himself feel strong in front of him.
Soul lowered his head, glaring down at him. ''My plan?''
''How exactly are you going to kidnap them?'' Zeus asked, clarifying what he meant.
''I fail to see how that matters.''
''I'm just making sure that you don't harm the kid. I need them alive.'' The Olympian God stared up at him confidently, trying his best to not let him intimidate him.
''Where's the fun in that?'' Soul flashed a wicked grin.
''I know, but— I need them alive. You hear me? You can do whatever fucked up shit you want, but I just need them breathing.'' Zeus instructed seriously. Truthfully, he didn't care about how Soul would go about it, but there always came a price when you made a deal with the devil. He may not trust him, but the feeling was mutual.
''I wasn't planning on kidnapping them myself. My youngest son is going to. I figured it's time for him to start taking some jobs around here. Unlike me, he's kind of nice, so your precious grandchild won't be harmed. It'll be a different story though for when he brings them to me.'' Soul explained, a hint of playfulness lingering in his tone.
''Yeah, okay. I don't care, just don't kill them.''
''Are you going to tell me who's the unlucky brat now?'' He asked curiously.
''Yes. Your son is going to have to be careful. Their powers are extremely rare.'' Zeus warned.
''He can handle it. What's their name?''
. . .
''Carter!''
His grey eyes shifted, taking in that he was in the car on the way to school. He had zoned out, but that was nothing new. Carter turned his head, looking over at his younger sister Bailey. ''What?''
''Are you going to sign up for the spring magic tournament?'' She questioned curiously. Now that his powers finally came in he could participate in one like he's always wanted to.
''Hm.. I don't know. I just got my powers.. I feel like I should practice more first.''
''You can always ask Aria when you get home.'' Bridget chimed in, keeping her eyes focused on the road as she drove.
''I will.'' Carter glanced at Scarlett. She was sitting in between him and Bailey, quiet as usual. She never had much to say usually. He knew that his best friend was the type of person that would rather listen than speak. It was one of the things about her that he couldn't help but appreciate and admire.
