S2 Chapter 9 - ''Future?''

A week passed by and now it's the ninth of November; a Sunday. That means I get to finally take a god damn break.

I only have the morning off though but I decided to spend it hanging out with my buds at the Water Kingdom. It's a nice change of scenery, I always preferred Aria's place over mine.

We sat in a circle in the main room or more so a living room as I see it. Come on, there's a TV, bean bag chairs, everything that a living room has. It's sorta like a lounge.

''But he's always been shit at acting. Every movie he's starred in received bad reviews. All because of his fucking ass.'' Aria rambled.

Nate laughed at his sister's ranting before changing the topic. ''I think I know what I want to do now.''

''What do you mean?'' I asked getting up and walking over to the mini fridge for a drink.

''You know, as in the future. Careers and all that..'' Nate explained.

''So what do you want to do?'' Bridget asked. I opened the mini fridge taking out a can of soda and closed it with my foot.

''An intelligence agent. The good thing about it is I won't have to change my classes or anything.'' Nate shared happily.

That's good. Both him and Aria know what they want to do now.

''Nice. I'm actually going to be meeting up with a recruiter later. I have to take two tests then all that's left is getting that diploma.'' Aria smirked. ''And you know, turning eighteen.''

I strolled back to my seat opening the soda can and taking a swig. 

''Damn.. I don't even know what I want to do yet.'' Bridget laughed nervously rubbing the back of her neck.

''Yeah.. same here, sis.'' I chimed in.

''I'm sure you'll figure something out babe.'' Nate said to her kissing her cheek. Bridget giggled pecking him on the lips. He chuckled kissing her quickly and playfully which only lead to the two of them making out.

You have got to be kidding me..

I rolled my eyes, standing up. As I started heading into the hallway I threw the can into a nearby garbage.

I sighed standing in the middle of the hallway just staring at the framed pictures on the wall. One of them was Poseidon, then Aria, then the two of them together.

''You alright, bud?'' Aria asked. I glanced over seeing that she followed me out but continued to stare at the wall in front of me. 

''No.''

''What's wrong? Couldn't handle the PDA?'' She questioned jokingly.

''It's not that.. it's just, I feel stuck Ar.'' I slipped my hands into my pockets. ''It's like.. nothing is ever changing, you know? It's always the same thing every single day. Work.. work.. no sleep.. no eating.. only bathroom breaks.'' 

''I know how you feel.'' Aria stated standing next to me looking at the pictures on the wall as well.

''I'm just.. discontent, you know? I don't want this to be my life. And the more I think about it.. the more I want to die.'' I expressed honestly. ''I've just been trying to block out those kind of negative thoughts lately but man I don't fucking know. I can't do anything right. First running away.. disappointing Bridget.. now I'm the ruler of a Kingdom but I can't even do that right. Everything's all fucked up.. I can't even go to school like a normal student. I have to resort to doing it online because I can never go out anywhere..''

''Sounds like you burn out easily, Logan.''

''What do you mean?'' I asked, confused.

''You running away.. that was you burning out. Now being the ruler.. you're not use to so much pressure because you weren't around for years. This is the first problem your Kingdom has had.. yet it's making you cower. That's you burning out then and that's you burning out right now.'' Aria explained.

''I guess..'' I mumbled not knowing how to respond.

''So that's a flaw of yours I've noticed. But you're strong-willed. Your determination and your strength is the reason you're standing here right now. The reason why you're still going. That's why you haven't gotten up, packed your bags and said fuck this.'' Aria pointed out. ''And I think.. that all you have to do Logan, is just look inside yourself to find the answer.. how to change and what you want to do.. all you have to do is reflect. You haven't been able to do that lately with all the work you're taking on..'' 

I stayed silent, thinking about what she was saying. Reflect on myself? She's right, I haven't been able to do that. But where do I even start with that?

''I know it's been hard on you. You know I'm here for you bud.. if you need help with the whole situation, all you gotta do is ask.'' Aria offered looking at me.

''I could really use the help.'' I accepted gazing over at her hopelessly. 

''Well, fuck, all you had to do was ask.'' Aria snickered. ''So fill me in.''

''How about we do that tomorrow? Someone who can help is coming into town tomorrow.. and I also have a lot of other allies. I'll just bring them by and we can discuss a plan?'' I suggested.

''Okay. Let's do this shit.''
