S3 Chapter 5 - ''Weak''
Bridget Martin
Using my light powers I created a blanket getting onto it and flying it down onto the first floor where the robots are.
Once I landed I stared at them for a moment the wave of anger I was feeling still there but all the moments of being called weak popping into my mind.
Can.. I actually do this?
I shook my head taking a deep breath as I formed a light cannon. My eyes locked onto the robots aiming it at them. With one light touch a ray of light shot out towards the robots disintegrating them into thin air.
Damn, that was fucking bad ass!
Making the cannon quickly disappear I then ran over to help the injured kids who were hiding but was suddenly trapped in a cage.
No, no, no..
I grabbed the bars starting to scream trying to use my light powers to break the cage but for some reason it wasn't working. It was like my powers didn't work on the bars.
I immediately began to feel hopeless what I did just now not mattering as I watched the robot who looked different than the others stroll towards the trap.
Is that robot the one behind this? Who are they? They have to be a human. But how exactly did they even invent these robots.. technology isn't that advanced yet here in Shadow Creek..
My thoughts were interrupted by the robot reaching in through the space in between the bars grabbing me by my shirt. In a flash the cage disappeared making my heart hammer in my chest.
The robot roughly pulled me towards them. Breathing hard I tried again to use my powers in attempt to break out of her grip to attack her but again it wasn't working, it felt like all my magic had been drained from my body.
It's eyes examined me closely and carefully before speaking in it's creepy robotic voice. ''A pregnant lady should not be overexerting herself.'' A lump formed in my throat. ''I could easily kill you and your baby, you weak human.''
Weak. That word was enough to set me off. I'm sick and fucking tired of being called that all the time.
I continued trying to use my powers on it struggling to get out of it's grip but to my surprise it dropped me on the floor. And once she did that it felt like I couldn't do anything. I lost.
My eyes began to water watching the robot leave since she was the only one standing. I heard footsteps running up behind me the tears rolling down my cheeks as a familiar hand was placed on my shoulder.
''Bridget.. you shouldn't have done that.''
I just nodded my head knowing she was talking about what I did back there with Logan but taking it like she was talking about what I attempted to do. I couldn't help but continue crying as she helped me up off the ground.
I should just give up and stop this, stop trying to prove myself. I am truly weak like everyone says.
