Alizia's POV

''Fuck, fuck, fuck.'' I mumbled under my breath, panic rising inside my head.

I didn't think she would do that! That fucking troublemaker!

Hades is definitely going to kill me now. I'm supposed to be one of his best workers, but I've let the girl he wants dead go.

At this rate, he'll found out and he'll get me. I'm going to die because of her.

Hades is my savior. He's a cruel man. I know how dark his heart is. If I don't do what he wants, I'm dead. But still. He's the one who saved me.

The one who saved me from the haunting past that corrupted the very depth of my fragile soul.

It's nothing to him. Just business. I know that. But if I wanted another chance at life, then working for him was the only way.

And since I failed him, he's going to throw me aside now. Definitely.

''Um, how did that even happen?'' One of the workers questioned shakily, staring at the portal. They immediately stopped the process, holding the coffins that were in line back.

I shook my head, answering silently that I didn't know. The workers looked traumatized and as if they were about to break down any moment.

''She is an important person to Hades, isn't she?''

''That's right.'' I instantly recognized the deep, dark and cold voice. Hades.

I turned around to face the extremely tall man, standing at 7'2, his raven black messy hair contrasted with his pale skin. He wore a long black cloak that went down to the ground. Along with a mask that only showed his sadden crazed eyes.

My eyes shook as I stared at his figure. I swallowed the lump in my throat, my hands beginning to sweat due to fear.

''Alizia,'' He called, looking down at me. It was as if he was scanning my whole body with his cold eyes and imagining tearing me to shreds.

I could only slowly nod, scared that if I spoke to him he would go straight in on killing me.

He isn't afraid to do that.

''Do you know what you've done?''

I nodded quickly this time. Rubbing my sweaty palms together, I tried to build up courage in order to fight my fear. The fear that ran through my whole body and made me feel like I was going to go crazy.

''You are a stupid, stupid girl.'' He chuckled slowly. ''You disappointed your master, and that comes with a price, yes?''

I did the same thing I did before already. I only nodded. Even if I wanted to speak, I couldn't. I was too scared. It felt like my voice vanished from me. My vocal cords were all clogged up.

Suddenly, he grabbed the front of my cloak, lifting me up off of my feet. I didn't gasp or anything. I knew this would happen. But what was to come only made me scared.

''Alizia, remember the time I took your pathetic ass in? I made you one of my workers. And you did such a good job.''

I shook my head yes. Of course I remember. That's the only reason why I work for him.

It's not about the blood shed. The torture. I don't care about that. I find those kind of things wrong. I find everything about this man wrong.

But he's the one who saved me, and I owe him a lot for that. He gave me a second shot at life. That's what I wanted. It sounds selfish, but that's the story.

I once use to be a kid who grew up on the streets alone and isolated from my family. They died in a house fire that was set up by someone that wanted them all dead. I was suppose to die too. The smell was already getting to me.

But for some fucking reason, I didn't. I would struggle to find food, water, clothes, just anything. I would have to avoid gangs roaming around at night. I would have to find shelter whenever it rained or there was a storm. I had nothing, and there wasn't any reason for me to be alive any more. I didn't know why I kept trying.

I decided to go into the woods. I thought, surely I would die from something in there. And that's where I met Hades. He had this whole act that he was a nice guy. That he would do nothing to harm you. After telling him my story, he said that he'll give me shelter.

But in exchange I'll have to work for him.

I was happy. He had given me a reason to live. And that was to work for him. There wasn't anything better to me at the time. Until I realized what I had gotten into. I watched people get murdered in front of me. I had to be the one doing the murdering.

''It's just business.'' He would always tell me.

I would just do what he told me. I owed him a lot. Where was I supposed to go anyway if I disobeyed him?

''Up until now, that is.'' Hades finished off before throwing me across the room at a fast speed. I crashed into the wall roughly, causing me to start coughing up blood. In a flash, he kicked me so hard in the stomach I could feel my whole body becoming numb.

''How does it feel, huh? Your first beating.''

I only stared at him through my half-opened eyes. He knelt down to look me in the eyes before punching me hard across the face. I fell limp on my side, my consciousness beginning to fade away from me.

I could see the other workers watching in horror at the scene happening before them. Tears stained my face as they flowed out of my now closed eyes.

''I don't want you anymore. You disappointed me,'' I heard Hades stand up back on his feet. ''So you can go rot in Hell for all I care, dear.'' He started to walk away, his footsteps becoming less audible. ''Send her to Hell for me, everyone.''

I could hear the other workers mumbles as I tried to keep my eyes open. One of them headed over to me, about to pick me up but I used the strength I had left to push him away.

But never again, Hades. I'm not going to follow you anymore.

''Do you guys really want to keep obeying him?'' I questioned them.

All of them looked at each other. Some shook their heads no while others remained silent and gazed at the coffins.

''Because I don't.'' I breathed out. ''Not now, and not ever again.''

Their eyes were on me as I struggled to stand up from the ground. Throbbing pain ran throughout my body but I didn't care at this point.

''I'm tired of watching these innocent people fall into despair all because of his selfish wants. He did the same to us. We need to stop this. We need to save these people. We need to save ourselves. Please, work with me here.''

''But.. we'll die if we do that..'' One of them voiced out.

''That doesn't matter.'' I panted. ''Do our lives really matter more compared to the thousands that have lost theirs and the broken souls here?''

I saw some of them nod in agreement and everyone started gradually joining in. ''You're right, why make him continue doing this to us?''

I wiped the side of my mouth that was covered in blood.

I'm going to redeem myself.

And to do that, I'm going to help the people Hades wants dead.
