The paramedics had gotten Carter to the nearby hospital in time. He was malnourished and starved. They informed the staff there that he did have food available, but he chose not to eat it. They've declared it as a suicide attempt and believe it would be best for him to spend some time at the mental hospital. His injuries are going to take a long time to heal, but with proper care he will be up and moving in no time. However, for now he has to use a wheelchair.
Scarlett and Aria simply overexerted themselves and woke up not long after they passed out. The nurses advised they get some rest and stay hydrated. But for Scarlett, they did see her self-harm scars when they examined her. They believe she should be hospitalized along with Carter.
Razor was declared dead at the scene. The paramedics did their best to revive her, but no amount of shocks worked. She was gone.
''I can't believe it,'' Aria muttered. ''Just like that?'' She asked, looking up at her family. Bridget nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat.
''Scarlett.. it was like she turned into a different person. I was genuinely scared what'd she do. Then..'' Bridget trailed off, glancing down at the floor. ''Then she killed him. And fuck, I know we haven't done any better. But.. it's her. She's only a child.''
''Wow.. I.. I don't know what to say.'' Aria responded quietly. It was a lot to take in. She woke up to the sudden news of Razor's death and how Scarlett got blood on her hands. The only silver lining of the situation was Carter surviving.
They lost another friend today.
First Alizia and now Razor.
''Who is going to take care of her? She's an orphan now.'' Nate asked, referring to Scarlett.
Aria sighed. She didn't know how to answer that. She was going to continue staying with them, there was no doubt about that. But maybe she could be under the Water Kingdom's legal care. Scarlett would still be considered an orphan, but at least they wouldn't give her any trouble. She had guardians to take care of her.
''She's staying with us,'' Bridget answered confidently. ''She's one of us. Right, Aria?''
''Of course. Razor is our friend, she would want us to watch after her.''
''Alright. But.. what about the mental hospital thing? Should we send them?'' Nate questioned. He felt like it was for the best that they do go. There's only so much they could do. They needed professional help after being traumatized they way they were.
''We have to.'' Bridget whispered. ''It's what they need.''
''I'm going to put the triplets into therapy. Maybe you should do the same for Bailey,'' Logan glanced over at Bridget and Nate. ''They're all pretty shaken up about it. They witnessed a lot and have been expose to how cruel the world can be.''
Bridget nodded, tears welling in her eyes. ''I d-didn't want this to happen.. you know?'' She sniffled. ''They're so young.. I wanted them to have a good life unlike the ones we had.''
''We couldn't have prevented it, Bridget..'' Nate took a deep breath. ''Bad things will always happen. But they will get through this.''
. . .
