(Happy New Year!)

You and Kai sprint down the hallway, Kai taking care of the few stone warriors who try to get in your way. You sniff the air and frown. "Why do I smell smoke?"

Kai glances at you. "Well, I-"

You both skid to a halt when you reach the last room, because one of the walls and half of the furniture inside is in flames. And in the middle of those flames is a big group of stone warriors blocking the exit. Kai charges right into the fire and starts beating up stone warriors.

"Why is everything on fire?!" you yell over the roar of the flames.

Kai kicks another stone warrior in the face and looks over his shoulder at you. "It was your idea!"

"Small fire!" you scream at Kai. "I said to start a small fire! This is not small!"

"It was small when I started it!" Kai yells back.

"Oh, great!" you yell back. You pull the collar of your shirt up over your mouth and nose to keep from breathing in smoke, although there doesn't seem to be much smoke in this room. Then you start making your way around the edge of the room, staying as far from burning furniture as possible and hopping over burning sections of the floor.

The stone warriors on the other side of the room don't seem bothered by the flames at all. Kai, on the other hand, is causing them a lot of trouble. Any stone warriors who aren't fighting or running for their lives are staring at him and scratching their heads, probably wondering why the fire isn't hurting him.

"Door, door," you mutter to yourself. "Where's the flipping door?"

You hop over another patch of fire on the floor, then realize that the fire is spreading toward you. There's still enough clear floor for you to move around, but if you don't get out of here soon, you're going to be barbeque.

"Come on," you mutter. "Where is the stupid-oh, no."

You've finally found the door, but there's a wall of fire in front of it. You'd never make it through without getting seriously hurt. As if to put the icing on the cake, you hear a few ominous creaks from the ceiling.

"Kai!" you yell. "We have a problem!"

"I'm a little busy, y/n!" Kai yells back. Most of the stone warriors have fled, but the ones that are left aren't giving up easily.

"And I'm running out of floor!" you reply. "Also, the fire's blocking the door and I think the ceiling's about to cave in!"

Kai grunts as a stone warrior hits him. "Don't worry-I've got everything under control!"

You look down at your feet, which are currently planted in the center of the only clear patch of floor in the room. The ceiling creaks a few more times, and sparks shower down from above. The heat is almost unbearable.

"If this is under control," you mutter, "I'd hate to see out of control."

You look down again and shuffle to the left just before your shoe would have caught on fire. "Kai!" you scream. Burning pieces of wood begin to fall from the ceiling.

Kai looks over at you and his eyes widen. "Hang on, y/n, I'm coming! Ninja go!"

Kai's Spinjitzu tornado zips across the room and picks you up. You stare through a blurred wall of red as the tornado heads for the door. Behind you, there's a loud splintering and crashing sound as the building begins to collapse.

Kai smashes right through the door and both of you practically fly out of the building. The tornado vanishes, and you and Kai both hit the ground and roll several feet before coming to a stop.

Kai sits up and rubs his shoulder. "Sorry. I wasn't expecting to get through the door so easily."

You stand up and groan when you feel some bruises forming on your legs. "Next time, could you not cut it so close? I was almost cooked back there."

"Come on, y/n," Kai says. "Let's go home."
