Chapter 11:
Kendall and I were in conversation when the elderly couple and stopped next to us smiling down at us. "You two are adorable." The elderly woman smiled down at us. I thanked her and nodded. They grabbed one another's hands and walked out of the café.
"I think she meant you were adorable." Kendall said reaching for my hand across the table. I took his and I smiled at him.
"You're making me soft babe, don't know how much longer I can go without cussing someone out." I said smirking at my menu just glancing at the words without actually reading them. He chuckled.
"I say that's a new record for you. You haven't threatened anyone that you'd make their basketball into a hat recently, that's progress." Kendall teased. The waitress came by and asked for our order. Kendall order some weird organic type meal which sounded really odd, but I guess if he likes it, he could go for it.
"And you miss?" The lady asked.
"Can we get the biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and bacon meal thing for a friend to go?" I asked she giggled nodding.
"Okay, then I'll have the pancake pincher with a side of fruit, no hash browns." I smiled up at her as she took my menu and then Kendall's.
"So you don't know what you want to do with your career?" Kendall asked suddenly. I shrugged.
"Don't have the money for college, I think Starbucks, or some kind of waitress deal is all I could get." I told him taking a sip of my water. He gave me a look of disappointment.
"Take your passion and run with it. Anything is possible." He told me crossing his arms on the table. I giggled.
"Tell all your fans that too?" I asked him. He nodded smiling.
"It works babe. Just fight till you're there. You'll make it out alive and stronger than you before." He said seriously.
"You sound like a therapist I had when my mom.... Anyway, I had a therapist that was really old and he smelled like pickles. But he always used to tell me that too." I told him. Just then, our food came out and a styrofoam box for Scott. We started eating as I looked to Kendall's plate and saw almost exactly what I had, but didn't he order off the organic menu?
"I thought you ate organic?" I asked him. He nodded chewing.
"Then what's all that? Look at my plate and yours? No difference." I told him. He smiled.
"Sweetie we ended up getting the same thing. Mine however is made of organic materials." He said. I made a face in disgust at his plate.
"Where I come from, there is no organic places, you're raised on the cows you raise and drink the milk they produce." I told him. My grandparents had owned a farm and I'd always be forced to go out with my grandpa and sit with him as he milked the cows. I even saw him shoot a cow once, maybe that explains why I'm such a hard ass.
"You sound just like Logan. He always says stuff about being from Texas. You don't talk to him much do you?" Kendall asked. I had gotten all the guys' numbers but never texted or called a single one of them. You could say I was shy, but in reality I just didn't know what to talk about with a famous boyband member or boyband guitarist. I shook my head. There wasn't much we talked about, just about the weather. We finished eating as I let Kendall pay the bill since he insisted and I've learned he gets annoyed if I insist on paying half. We walked hand in hand as I carried my purse and Scott's breakfast. Kendall dropped off my purse and Scott's breakfast in the car, as he told me he wanted to show me something. I followed as I was surprised by a camera flashing multiple times as I walked. I put on my Audrey Hepburn sunglasses and drew closer to Kendall as there were more cameras popping up.
"Yeah, um, paparazzi sometimes takes pictures of me." Kendall whispered in my ear as another camera took a picture. We hurried into a flower shop before they could follow us inside, although it was only three men with cameras they were really pressuring me to share a piece of my mind with them, but I knew from what Kendall told me that he had an innocent reputation to uphold, since he was on nickelodeon, and so cussing out paparazzi when we've been spotted together wasn't a good thing for his career.
