Chapter 98:

Today was my wedding dress shopping, since Logan had the day off now, he, my dad, Marilee, very pregnant Heather, Kathy, and Kevin were coming with me to my appointment. Kathy and Kevin drove to LA just for today. Logan, Marilee, and my dad took my dads truck, and then Heather sat in the back of my car with Kathy as Kevin had called shotgun. "Your father seems very sweet. I'm so happy you met him finally!" Kathy had said on the drive there.

"He is. He's been there for me as a real dad should be." I smiled at her in the rear view mirror.

"Your sister looks a lot like you Bob." Heather said.

"Really?" I asked. I thought we looked as if we could be sisters, but I wouldn't have said a lot like one another. Heather nodded.

"She isn't exactly like you though, she's different. You have a little more fire in ya, must be that you're a ginger." Kevin teased. I smacked his arm playfully. "Ow! See!" He acted hurt making all of us laugh.

We arrived at the dress shop as I had worn combat boots so I would know what to expect on my wedding day. My outfit was simple; strapless bra, black tank top, red cardigan, red high waisted skirt with ruffles, and black shiny thigh high combat boots. We met up with the rest of my party and entered the store to be greeted by camera crews. "Roberta Adams?" A lady behind a counter asked as we made our way past the camera crew whom weren't at all intrusive on our personal space which was refreshing. I nodded smiling as she walked around to shake my hand. "You'll meet your consultant Gigi up on the third floor, layout five." She smiled gesturing towards the elevators. I nodded looking back at my friends and family. We all pile into two elevators and eventually made it up to the third floor. We searched for our spot and eventually found it. We all sat down on the white couch and chairs waiting for Gigi.

"Hey hey!" A pretty darker skinned woman said walking around the corner dressed in all black. "How y'all doin' today?" She asked as we all smiled and Marilee and Logan cheered giggling at one another. "I'm looking for a Roberta?" She asked searching the females in our little group. I raised my hand smiling as a camera crew followed my every move. She walked over and shook my hand. "Who do you have with you here today?" She asked.

"This is my friend Heather, my best friend/man of honor Logan, my little sister and bridesmaid Marilee, then to my left my dad William, my soon to be mother in law Kathy, and my soon to be brother in law Kevin." I said going in the order we were seated.

"Alright, well, do you know what kind of a dress you're looking for?" Gigi asked me. I shook my head. "I know what I don't like though, and that's girlie to the unbearable amount. Like sparkles with flowers, poofy skirt and a big train... I can't deal with that." I told her. Heather cleared her throat. I giggled because she knew I hadn't really thought her dress was gorgeous for ANYONE. It was totally the dress for her, not me.

"Okay, well lets go shoppin'!" Gigi said as we headed Into the dress area. Everyone besides Logan grabbed at least three dresses and so we figured that would be enough. We went through all of them as I tried them on. "Are you wearing those boots for the wedding?" Gigi asked. I nodded giggling. "Or some sort of boot, I'm not sure on color or height yet." i told her. She only laughed at my choice in shoes. We had looked at all the dresses and none seemed to stand out to me. I was starting to freak out. I had about fifteen minutes left in my appointment and didn't want to make my dad pay extra for extra time. I sat in the chair in the dressing room and started freaking out and having a melt down. The consultant left the room leaving me to gather myself. I needed to get a dress. I needed one. I couldn't leave today without one and for it to be ready in time for the earlier due date Kendall and I agreed on last night. A knock at the door made me jolt up. "Come in." I said, clearing my face of the tears. In walked Logan. He smiled weakly and shut the door behind him.

"How ya holdin' up kid?" He asked. I shrugged. I didn't know why I was crying, stress maybe? "Do you want to see the dress I found?" Logan asked. I shrugged again leaving back in the chair. He stood up and opened the door and brought in a dress that was gorgeous. It the right amount of edgy, yet traditional, but all together beautiful.

"Oh my God, Logan! How you freaking know me so well?!" I shrieked hugging him and the dress. The assistant came in as Logan left and helped me into the dress. I smiled at myself in the mirror as I saw what I had on. I walked out on the runway so my friends and family could see the beautiful dress I had on. All I could hear were gasps. It was the one.
