Chapter 10:
Two weeks later and I've seen Kendall everyday. Scott was happy Kendall finally got me out of my funk of being afraid of commitment. Kendall and I weren't serious but we sure had our fun being whatever we were. Kendall was outside the door as I was about to shower, so Scott got up and answered the door for me as I snuck into the bathroom locking the door. I hurried showering and got out about ten minutes later. I hurried to put my usual makeup on, blew my hair dry, and then straightened my hair. I stuck a huge black headband over my hair as the huge bow was directly on top of my head. I was feeling like it was too quiet in the bathroom so I put on pandora on the overly expensive phone I owned that I probably couldn't pay to keep it after a month or two more in California.
"I promise I would be there
I swear I'm on my way
I know you may not hear me
But that's the price I'll pay...." A familiar voice sang on the channel. I looked down as I buttoned my jeans and saw it was 'Shot In the Dark' by Big Time Rush. I turned it up, giggling at the guys whom I knew in person sing on pandora. I had on long light colored flared jeans, black and white Chuck Taylor's, and a black plain top with a black floral print tank cover that was shorter in the back to my waist, while the fronts length went down to my knees. I hung a necklace that was my moms around my neck. It was an old round cameo locket with a woman's white outline with a blue background. I hurried cleaning up my mess of makeup and heard a knock on the door. "Bobby?" I heard Scott ask.
"Yes?" I asked turning off my music. I opened the door to Scott, shirtless leaning against the wall. He was smirking.
"Hurry up girl. Don't use all the other guests hot water, especially mine." He joked grabbing the nicely folded clothes on the counter and pushing past me into the bathroom.
"Hey pretty girl, don't you look beautiful today." Kendall said walking past our beds to me. I reached out my arms and embraced him around the neck as he laid his lips on my cheek. I smiled and giggled.
"Why thank you, good lookin'! You don't look half bad yourself." I winked at him. He chuckled and gestured to himself.
"Thank you, I'm glad you noticed my extra effort this morning." He smiled, his eyes crinkling around the edges. I looked at his outfit. He must've been sarcastic because it was his normal attire, green plaid shirt, dog tag, grey tank top, skinny jeans, and vans. I giggled and looked at the door where Scott was showering behind it.
"Scott! We're going to breakfast! We'll bring you back something!" I shouted as he shouted back in agreement. I grabbed my purse and Kendall's hand leading us down the hall. In the elevator was the same older couple whom we had encountered two weeks ago. Kendall wrapped his arm across the small of my back and held me close as the older couple glared at us. I smirked at the older man who glared a moment too long.
"Behave." Kendall whispered in my ear. I rolled my eyes and decided to do as I was told. We eventually got to the little café and went inside to hear indie music and see organic choices on the menu along with normal choices. We chose a table for two in the cafés window and sat looking at the beautiful sunny sky. Kendall was focused on the menu as I snuck glimpses at him. His hair was a little ski slope at the front and made me want to touch but I figured that'd be awkward. I cleared my throat before speaking.
"So why this place for breakfast?" I asked him looking out the window.
"I stopped eating non organic food." He told me. I looked back at him and nodded, non judgmentally. "Why? Don't see anything you like?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No I found something for me and for Scott too." I smiled at him. He smiled back and took a drink of his water. An elderly couple sat two tables down from us and were whispering to one another pointing to Kendall and I.
"Old people seem to think we're pretty interesting." I told Kendall quietly looking down at the menu once as Kendall met my gaze and he turned his head to look at him.
