Chapter 37:

We pulled up to Kendall's family's home again as we had checked out of our hotel and ran to a little coffee shop real quickly. The sky was grey and big rain drops hit the windshield as Kendall and I looked at one another. "Wanna know something?" I asked again. He nodded smiling at me. His skin was an amazing pale tan color that it made me feel very pale in comparison. He was perfect. I played with the ends of my straight hair for a second which was down by my waist. His green eyes could stare into my soul if they truly tried. "I've always wanted to be one of those cheesy couples who kiss in the rain." I smiled at him. He chuckled. He pulled the keys out of the ignition, and opened his door nodding. I put up my hood and got out. I hurried out and ran up to him at the front of our car. I stared up at him with adoring eyes as he smiled at me.

"You're crazy you know that right?" He asked smiling. I nodded. He had his hood up and smiled even wider as he pulled me by my waist to get close.

"But I'm crazy for you." I told him. He then stopped smiling and looked at me with admiration.

"You're my necessity, Roberta. You're my everyday girl." He smiled again, love in his eyes. I couldn't help but smile as big as I could, so big that the moon could see from Earth. He leaned down and kissed me. The wind knocking off his and my hood as we got a little too heated during the kiss. I pulled away as thunder echoed in the sky. We laughed and ran back to the car, grabbing my purse and our coffees, then running up the driveway full of cars. We opened the door without knocking and was greeted by the smell of cinnamon as we took off our jackets.

"Kendall, Bobby!" Kendall's dad walked over to hug us both. He seemed a little more alive today which made me happy. Once again I traveled past uncles and cousins to the kitchen where Kathy, Karen, and most the females were hiding out.

"Bobby! Don't you look darling!" She said smiling down at my outfit with Kendall's necklace back to it's original length today. I hadn't noticed but Kendall was right behind me today.

"Awe, thank you Kathy!" I told her as we hugged. They were making cinnamon rolls which explained all the scents in the air.

"Making your organic cinnamon rolls from scratch this morning?" Kendall asked smiling as he bent down to hug her.

"Of course! Goodness is it raining that hard outside?" She asked kissing his cheek to see the moisture from the rain had been left behind on Kendall's cheek.

"Yeah, it's pretty crazy out there." Kendall confirmed. I stuck my phone which had been in my hand in my boot in hopes to be free handed.

"What can I do Kathy?" I asked as I saw many of the women sitting around the huge dinning room table and not in the actual kitchen with her.

"Oh it's fine dear." She explained as I took a sip of my truffle tasting coffee.

"No it's okay. I can help. Let me wash my hands." I smiled walking over to the kitchen sink as Kendall sat at the bar across from where his mom was making what seemed like feet of dough. I walked back over after washing and smiled at Kendall as he was looking at his phone.

"Here dear, you can cut the dough after I put the butter, cinnamon and sugar in and I've rolled them." I nodded and did as I was told. She really was a great motherly figure for me to have around.
