Chapter 102:
I got dressed after showering, and entered a room full of angry people. Tawny was yelling at Marilee as Heather and Logan tried defending her. "It's not like we took her to a bar full of strange men!" Logan said. I sighed throwing my old clothes on my suitcase in the living room where this fight was taking place. The yelling continued as the doorbell rang, no one seeming to care. I walked over to the door and opened it to see my dad carrying his tux in a bag as he was in jeans and a tshirt.
"Hello dad." I smiled at him. He stepped through the door and kissed my cheek.
"Hello glowing bride." He smiled at me. "I have something for you on your wedding day. I searched my whole storage unit for this last night, and I finally found it." He said reaching into his pocket. I waited patiently till his hand grabbed mine and the other put an object in my hand. He slowly retracted his hands and left me to look at the object into hands. A rosary with small delicate blue beads rested in my hand. I looked up at him. "I searched all night, Bobby, this was your moms. She gave it to me a couple weeks before I was deported and before she knew she was pregnant with you. She'd want you to have it." He told me.
I smiled weakly. "Thank you so much dad, but it's yours." I told him handing it back to him. He laughed and shook his head.
"You need something burrowed, I borrowed this from your mom. You need something old, it's as old as you. And you need something blue, and the beads are blue. I figured you could hold it with your bouquet?" He said smiling. It was a sweet idea, so I figured I'd accept it. We walked into the living room where Marilee was crying and Logan was by her side comforting her.
"What's going on?" My dad asked. Tawny stood with her arms crossed.
"You might want to ask your oldest daughter what her, her little sister and her friends did last night." Tawny said angrily. My dad turned to me. "What happened?" He asked. I sighed, I knew Logan would be forbidden to date Marilee if I let them know it was his plan, I took the blame.
"I got Marilee a fake ID, we rented out a bar, and we got drunk. There were strippers there, but we came home afterwards because I passed out onstage as the strippers tried to perform with me." I said quickly. I got shocked faces from Marilee, Logan, and Heather. My dad crossed his arms in disappointment.
"That's just disgraceful, but the fact that Logan, Heather, and Marilee went along with it is just plan idiotic!" My dad yelled. I sighed knowing he wanted to blame someone other than his daughters for last night.
We all settled down and eventually got out the door for breakfast. Logan, Marilee, and Heather rode with me in Logan's car as they all didn't speak a word, until Logan looked back at me in the rear view mirror. "Why did you say it was your fault? That's a horrible way to start out your big day." He told me. I shrugged looking out the window.
"If not, you and Mari wouldn't be able to date. They would've sworn her off from seeing you. I knew they'd go easier on me if they thought I did it." I said quietly. I didn't know exactly what they would've done if they knew Logan had been the one to start everything, but I knew it wouldn't have looked good for their barely blossoming relationship.
"Bobby, you didn't have to lie for me." Logan told me. I shrugged again.
"Can we just move on already?!" I asked annoyed by the questions floating around. We pulled up to a restaurant and met with my dad and Tawny who had taken Tawny's car. Everyone walked in with my dad and I in the back of the group as he stopped me to ask me a question.
"You didn't really do all that stuff you took the blame for did you?" He asked knowingly. I shook my head. He nodded as he gave me a hug. "You're a good sister." He whispered. I smiled at him, knowing it was true and not thinking that was weird of me to think.
