Chapter 114:

Kendall and the rest of our group said our goodbyes quickly after my breakdown. I slowly walked back to Kendall's car and got in without feeling anything. We drove silently to Heather's as I jumped out of the car. Kendall could barely keep up with me as I sprinted towards the door. "Bobby, wait. Please slow down." Kendall shouted grabbing my arm spinning me around on my heels.

"Kendall, you don't understand. He was my best friend. He killed himself. I just need to read this note." I told him staring into his green eyes. Kendall breathed a sigh and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them once more.

"Just slow down. I want to be there for you, but if you're running away from me, it's difficult for me to stay by your side." Kendall told me sorrow in his eyes. I nodded hesitantly. We walked the rest of the way up the walk way to Heather's opening door. A very pregnant Heather opened the door, no makeup, no hair done, just worn looking pajamas, a bare tired face, and a high bun on the top of her head. She embraced me as soon as I walked inside and I hugged her back.

Heather's silent tears fell down her face as they soaked my shoulder. I couldn't cry again. Not after all I've been through in the last week, I was out of tears. I needed to move on. I needed to stop feeling emotions. Crying is all I ever seemed to do. I needed to feel emotionless. If I cried, it's almost always sad tears, only once at my wedding did I cry tears of joy. I no longer had a reason to cry tears of joy, so why not turn off my emotions. That's what I decided, go emotionless. Kendall rubbed Heather's back as she hugged me for dear life.

"Heather? Where's the note?" I asked her letting my arms loosen from around her. She pulled away while cleaning off her face and looked at Dustin who was walking into the room. He had a white envelope in hand and kindly handed it over.

"Do you need some space to read it?" Dustin asked. I nodded and took the envelope and gestured towards the porch.

"I'm going to read it out here." I smiled as Kendall looked as if he was going to protest, but he stopped. I opened the door once more, closing it behind me as took a huge breath. I walked down a step and sat down. I sat with the letter in my lap, unopened, waiting as if Scott would come up the driveway now and say 'Hey Bob, what ya reading?' But I knew better. He wasn't going to do that. He was gone. I numbly opened the envelope, and pulled out a bumpy, almost as if there had been water spilled over it, piece of notebook paper and unfolded it. I could tell that had writing from anywhere. The loops and hard pressure making it almost impossible to read if you hadn't seen it many times before for many years. I took one more huge breath before I started to read:

'Bob...'
