Chapter 46:
"DayQuil? Or Rubitussin?" Kendall asked me as we stopped by a store to get me medicine. I shrugged as he looked at the bottles. "What are your symptoms then?" He asked.
"Everything hurts, my back hurts, head hurts, sinuses hurt, ears hurt, face hurts... Everything hurts." I said putting my forehead on his shoulder closing my eyes. His coat was a little scratchy on my nose but not bad.
"Well I think we'll get you DayQuil and NightQuil do you can have relief at night too." He said. I nodded still in the same position as before. We walked back to the entrance where the registers were as we waited in line. Everytime a door opened a rush of cold air came to me, as I would shiver. Kendall wrapped an arm around me and rubbed my arm. I paid for the medicine and we were off. Kendall bought some breakfast for us for our long two hour journey to his families house. I took the medicine and made a face that made Kendall chuckle. I set the bottle in the front pocket of our suitcase in the back seat.
I started to feel better eventually and Kendall could tell. He would now talk a little louder since my ears and head weren't as sensitive as they had been this morning. He and I talked about Christmas traditions of my family. "You didn't have any traditions?" Kendall asked. I shook my head.
"I was lucky if I had presents some Christmases... Until I met Scott and his family whom would get me a thing or two." I told him, playing with the rose necklace around my neck. He noticed my fingers and smiled.
"Well, you don't have to worry now, December 24th is when you'll get presents from my family, then you'll get mine on December 25th, and the night of the 26th is when Logan and Dustin will come over and we will give each other gifts.
"Kendall, you didn't tell me your family was going to get me gifts..." I told him annoyed. He smirked.
"That's because they told me not to until you couldn't go shopping for all of them." He laughed. I rolled my eyes and felt tired, but I remembered that Kendall wouldn't get his gift till after Christmas.
"Hey, you don't get a gift till January second, Kay?" I asked him. He gave me a wondering look and nodded. "Good boy, no questions asked." I teased. He held my hand as I soon fell asleep while he drove.
