Emerald's POV~

"Ma'am, good morning! We are very happy to be able to greet you and have you among us."

Ugh!

I hated how my management employees greeted me. It's like they would try to come up with the most dramatically planned out speech or phrases.

The manager of one of my companies greeted me inside the towering skyscraper. It took alot of time and strategy to be able to visit my business premises at least once every month. My agenda was always packed with meetings, private dinners, new products being launched and new negotiations being proposed. It was absolutely hectic. My mind wandered back to my daughter. A smile found it's way on my face.

There was my reason of motivation.

Ivette

My beautiful daughter.

Once again I urged myself to hurry with all of my activities that needed to be done today. I needed to finish early. I had a movie night to get back to with my beloved daughter.

"-so we can plan them now if you wish?" My management employee finished.

I then realized I had zoned out of my previous conversation. I had let my thoughts run over and allowed myself to become distracted. I didn't need any type of distractions. Not that my baby was! But at this particular moment I couldn't be distracting myself with the activities I had to complete later on. A fogged up brain could lead me to take unclear decisions that would certainly come back and bite me in the arse.

That is one of the many reasons as to why I didn't do relationships. They distracted me. Distractions were something that I didn't need in my busy life.

"Sorry, what was that?" I asked.

"We have all of the names of our recently promoted workers. Would you like to set up the dates, time and place for the private dinners now?" The man repeated.

I didn't have enough time for that. I still had to visit a handful of my business offices along with a few hotels. No, I couldn't set up the private dinner dates now.

"I'm sorry but I do not have the time for that now. I wish to organize a late night dinner with all of the recently promoted workers at the same time and date. Would that work well with you?" I asked for the man's opinion.

I was fully aware that this was my decision to make. I was the one that had to decide whether it worked well with me or not. But I wasn't a tyrannical person either. Though the businesses were mine, I liked to consider other person's opinions. Even if they did come from my hired personnel instead of the board. I considered other peoples thoughts and that was another reason as to why I was very successful in the business industry. No one wanted to work for a tyrant, controlling and manipulating boss.

"Whatever is best for you, will work perfectly well with us ma'am." The man offered a genuine smile.

"Very well then. Let's take this to my office. I want all of my management employees present as well as both my secretaries." I ordered as I lead the way to the conference room.

Candice's POV~

I was back at my office after exploring what was soon to be my new responsibilities. I had to admit that my manager was right...it was hectic indeed! But I was sure I could manage.

Audrey did a good job of explaining all that was expected from me once I began to work in my new area. She seemed to be a great person. Very cheery, smiley and she liked to crack jokes at every given opportunity .
