Emerald POV~
I woke up with a smile on my face.
Today was Sunday and I had taken a day off to spend it with Candice, Betty and Ivette. I was going to make sure the day went perfectly for the three of us.
Ivette needed her usual share of fun. As for Candice, although she said she was fine, I knew she needed to relax. The whole divorce between her and her wife was worrying her beyond my comprehension.
I was dying to know what was bothering her, but the divorce was an untouchable subject. It was something we never talked about and I had began to wonder if Candice somehow had a problem with me.
So today would be a much needed day of free time and recreational activities. Hopefully it would help Candice clear her mind from all the stress she's been going through.
I took a quick shower and changed into black shorts and a shirt that Ivette had given me not so long ago. It was matching Minnie Mouse shirts, Ivette's shirt had the word Princess and mine read Mommy's. And today I was going to force her to wear hers as well.
I silently crept towards her room and peeked inside. She was cocooned in her blankets, fast asleep. I smiled evilly as I stepped inside. I stealthily neared her bed.
I covered my ears as I jumped on her bed. I began to jump up and down all over her bed, making sure not to step on her. And that's when the greatly expected shriek came.
Actually shriek would be an understatement. That girl screamed bloody murder!
"Mom!" She yelled out angrily.
I heard approaching footsteps outside the room and as I turned around to see who it was, Ivette wrapped her arms around my ankle.
"Ivette!" I exclaimed right before tripping and crashing onto the floor.
That's when Candice ran inside the room looking all flustered and panicked.
"What's going on?" She questioned.
I groaned as I grabbed my left ankle. It was hurting really bad and I began to wonder if I had sprained it.
So much for the perfect day, I thought.
"Ivette knocked me down."
"She woke me up!" Ivette's shrill voice accused.
I laughed at how riled up she had gotten. I absolutely loved to wake her up like this. Only that me toppling over the bed was never actually a part of this all.
"Okay I admit: it's my fault." I laughed.
Candice glared at me and I instantly understood that she was accusing me of waking her up as well. I lifted my hands up in surrender and she rolled her eyes.
"Well your childish antics just caused me to leave a pancake on the stove which is most likely burnt by now." Candice spoke up.
"Oh, so you weren't sleeping, for a moment I thought I would have to face your wrath as well." I joked. "Not that I would mind, but Ivette's alone can be pretty overwhelming."
"Get up and come have breakfast."
I stood up and winced when my left ankle supported my weight. I had definitely hurt it with that fall.
"Come on princess! We have a whole day of fun ahead of us. We're going to wear our matching shirts today." I giddily informed Ivette.
She squealed in excitement and instantly lit up like a light bulb. I laughed at her drastic change of mood. She stood up from the bed and tackled me into a hug. So I quickly helped her with her shower and changed her into matching black shorts and Minnie Mouse shirt.
