Candice POV~
"So you're getting it on with the infamous Emerald Perez, huh?" Audrey chuckled.
She was slouching lazily on the chair across my desk. Today she had went out for burritos and we we're currently having lunch in my office. I had began to work in my newly assigned work area and Audrey was of big help. She was, in fact, a good friend. I had came to realize that she was trustworthy despite her being a talkative person.
"That was before I found out she was my boss okay?" I defended myself.
Her laughter reverberated against my four walls and I rolled my eyes. Ever since my admittance of my passionate night with Emerald, Audrey had made it her job to constantly tease me about it.
"So have you spoken to Nancy?" She quirked up in her chair.
I furrowed my brows in confusion, "No, why?"
"Just curious. I mean she has to sign the divorce papers as well you know?"
"I haven't even seen her since that night."
"Hey, everything's going to be alright." She took my hand in hers and she gave me a soft smile. "You've got me now."
"If that's meant to make me feel better, well it isn't of much help." I gave her a playful smile.
"Girl please! I'm too awesome for you." She said with an arrogant flip of her hair.
I laughed at her cockiness and a big smile appeared on Audrey's face. We finished the remainder of our food and I thanked her again. Now I had to get back to work.

"Well you don't seem stressed at all." Emerald joked as I stepped inside her luxurious penthouse.
I had spent two weeks living with Emerald and I still wasn't used to all of the lavishness she was so accustomed to. She had been extremely sweet, caring and loving towards me the past days. I appreciated her help, but I didn't want to actually live with her.
"Emerald I-"
"Let's go out tonight." She interrupted me.
"What?" I asked in utter disbelief.
"Would you please go on a date with me?" Emerald pleaded with a wide eyed expression.
I covered my face with my hand and I let out a deep sigh. "Emerald, I really appreciate what you are doing for me. But it's been only two weeks since my break up with my wife. I know it may seem as a rejection, but it's not. I'm just not ready to begin dating again. It's too soon."
She smiled and shook her head.
"I completely understand. How about we go out for dinner then? A simple fast food restaurant will do."
"I'm surprised a high maintenance woman like yourself is willing to go through the degradation of a fast food restaurant." I joked.
"Trust me, there's plenty more degrading things I'd do and you don't even know." She winked.
I felt my face heating up at her comment. I simply shook my head as I walked past her towards my room. Once there I took a much needed, relaxing shower and I quickly changed into comfortable clothes. I then stepped outside and Emerald and I made our way out of the apartment.
"Where would you like to go?" Emerald asked once we were on the road.
"Anywhere with burgers. I've been craving some ever since yesterday." I confessed with embarrassment.
