Emerald POV~
How long was she here for?
That was my first thought after I saw Candice leaving the restaurant with her wife in tow.
Talking about her wife; she was stunning. She seemed very composed and her stance oozed of confidence. Her long strides were purposeful and she seemed to have a bit of muscles. Not the manly type of muscle. But the sexy, feminine type. Her appearance radiated a bad aura. Everything about her screamed out bad. But who was I to judge?
All I was thinking about now, was Candice.
Candice
I had my blissful moment of the day.
Everything seemed to fade away as she sent me her breathtaking, dimpled smile. Her soft grey eyes were a swarming pool of hidden emotions and I wanted to drown in them. I wanted to have them glued on me.
I was never one to call for attention, but, oh the things I would do to catch hers!
All I wanted was to take her in my arms and hug her close. Maybe, hopefully, even make her mine. There was something different about her and I wanted to get to know her more. Though it was something impossible. Why was it so hard for me to comprehend that she had a wife!?
I couldn't help but wonder, what did Candice see when she glanced at me?
Was it something good? Bad? Did she have any type of thoughts involving me in a way I constantly thought about her? As something more than friends?
A French Fry collided with my cheek and I playfully glared at Ivette.
"What was that for?" I whined.
She giggled as she brushed her beautiful dirty blonde hair away from her tiny face.
"You got distracted mommy. Who was the pretty lady you smiled at?" She asked me innocently.
My future wife and your future mother...I thought with a smile.
Hey! It wasn't a bad idea! I mean I could totally imagine us together.
Of course.
She just had to be married. Why out of all the people I've met, did Candice have to be a married woman!? Why couldn't she have been single so that I could have at least a slight chance with her?
Because right now it seemed pretty damn impossible.
"Remember that last time someone spilled coffee all over me by accident?" I questioned her. She eagerly nodded and I continued. "Well that 'pretty lady' is Candice. And she was the one that spilled her coffee on me by accident ."
Her mouth fell into an 'o' as realization dawned over her. Well, her memory was astounding.
"Are you mad at her?" Her face scrunched up in confusion.
"Of course not honey. Why would I? It was an accident." I explained.
"I guess so." She answered before biting into her burger.
"So, are you ready for school tomorrow?" I asked her.
I sipped my soda and I studied her face. She finished her food before answering my question.
"Yes. Tomorrow we'll have a practice routine for our recital and I want to be the best!" She animatedly spoke.
That girl seriously loved to dance. Which reminded me; I still had to search for her dance instructor that she wanted. I had absolutely no idea where to look for one. Guess I would just have to ask Samantha for help.
Samantha was the person I usually went to whenever I needed something done. If I needed new maids to work for me, Samantha called them in. If I needed remodelers, Samantha searched for them. If I needed a custom made dress, Samantha collected the details and went all out to get it made.
"I'm sure you will be, sweety! Samantha and I will search for your dance instructor tomorrow."
Ivette smiled happily and soon she began babbling about all the dance moves she wanted to perform. She talked with so much passion that it made a smile appear on my face. There was no doubt that Ivette was the number one person I loved. Nothing could compare to her. I seriously appreciated all of the little time that I managed to take off of work to spend it with her. I loved these bonding moments that I had with her. They were just so rare and special. I couldn't wish for anything else at the moment.
Except for Candice maybe...
I rubbed my face and focused all of my attention on Ivette. I wasn't going to let my mind wander off on it's own while I had my baby girl here with me. That was a big no-no for me! So I continued to give Ivette my undivided attention.

"Why not!?" Betty whined.
"I'm not really in the mood to go out clubbing." I tried to explain with valid reasons why I didn't want to go clubbing tonight.
"Babe you need to get out and let loose." She continued to pressure me.
"I have an important meeting tomorrow morning. Dealing with a hangover won't help me one bit."
"Well then, don't drink?" She said in a duh tone.
"So what's the point of going if I won't be able to drink?" I tried refusing her again.
"Emma don't be like that!" She whined.
I smiled at her when she called me Emma. She would always call me that when she was begging me for something.
"Like how?" I continued to tease her.
"Like there's nothing for you to do at a club other than drink. You can meet new people! Possibly even hook up with someone." She said the last part with a disgusted face.
I chuckled at her and I threw my arms up in frustration.
"Fine! I'll go. Just this time."
She squealed happily as she tackled me in a hug and planted a sweet kiss on my cheek. Well, she was obviously excited over tonight.
"But we'll come back early. Midnight tops, understood? If I can't find you, I'm leaving without you." I warned her.
"Sure thing Emerald." She rolled her eyes.
