Candice POV~

"I don't know what's gotten into her Audrey." I wailed to my best friend. "I thought she was the most perfect woman out there. She gave me love, attention, and freedom. But now everything's changed."

"Just like Nancy did at first, huh?" Audrey whistled.

"No Audrey. Nancy never really gave me freedom."

"You know what I mean."

"Are you listening to me, Audrey?" I spit out in between sobs. "I feel like you don't understand."

Audrey sighed and offered me another tissue. She then placed the box aside and stood up from the couch.

"I think you're the one that doesn't seem to understand, Candice." She cupped her chin and gave me a scrutinizing look. "I think you need to hear this from someone. And I'll be the blunt and audacious person to break it to you. But first, let's go out. I hate seeing you this way."

"I don't feel like going out Audrey," I whined.

"I know you don't. That's why I'm not asking, I'm ordering you. Go get fixed."

I watched as she disappeared out of my room and I groaned in frustration. Audrey didn't seem to comprehend how I was feeling and that bothered me. It bothered me because Audrey was basically my only friend other than Jane–who I hadn't seen in two years. And if my only friend couldn't understand me, then I was pretty sure no one else would either.

This made me feel extremely lonely and powerless.

Now Audrey wanted to take me out when all I wanted to do was sit in my room watching reruns on TV and eating junk food.

Too bad I didn't really have a choice.

So with all the fatigue and laziness in the world, I forced myself out of bed and headed to the shower.

The warm water seemed to soothe me a little and I could feel my mood lifting if only a tad bit. I then got out and changed into faded jeans, black tank top and a red and black checkered shirt tied around my waist. I slipped on black Vans and pulled my hair up into a messy ponytail.

After applying a small amount of make up I headed downstairs, where an impatient Audrey was already waiting for me.

"Finally! I thought you would bail on me." Audrey exclaimed.

"Not like I can, we live together. I know you would have found me eventually and dragged me down." I rolled my eyes.

"Of course I would." Audrey gave me a cheeky smile.

We stepped out of her house and Audrey locked the door behind her.

"Okay, do you want me to be a nice, gentlemanly and extremely sweet Audrey, or do you want me to be myself?" Audrey asked.

I gave her a confused look but answered nonetheless. "I want you to be yourself."

"Oh, the relief!" Audrey exclaimed as we reached her car. "I was afraid you'd choose the sweet Audrey and I would be forced to act endearing towards you the whole night."

I chuckled as I climbed inside the car and buckled my seatbelt.

"So first off, we'll have dinner. You know, since you never really had that lunch earlier."

I groaned and banged my head against the window.

"Hey, I'm sorry for reminding you, but I'm just pointing out the crude reality." Audrey giggled.
