Candice's POV~I woke up to an empty bed.
I wasn't actually expecting to wake up in Nancy's embrace...was I?
I did miss the unfamiliarity of it all though.
I was sure everything would be awkward now. What with the whole embrace we shared yesterday.
Something we hadn't done in the past two years.
I grumpily stood up from the bed and headed to the bathroom. Going through my everyday routine on autopilot. I felt so sleep deprived that my steaming hot shower didn't help at all.
Maybe breakfast would.
As I made my way downstairs the smell hit my nostrils before I even entered the kitchen.
This made me rush towards it, while expecting to find it on fire or something like that.
But it wasn't, thankfully.
My eyes landed on Nancy. Her tall body frame hunched, hovering over the stove as she concentrated on whatever she was cooking.
Or attempting to cook.
I smiled at the sight.
"I...umm...made you breakfast." She said when she finally looked up and noticed my presence.
I smiled as I took a seat on the kitchen island.
I was happy that Nancy had even given it a try. I knew for a fact that Nancy couldn't possibly cook to save her life. But it was her intentions that counted. So when she came over and sheepishly placed a plate of uneven pancakes in front of me, I couldn't help but to lean over and give her hand a reassuring squeeze.
The pancakes weren't as bad as their appearance. Nancy had progressed a tad bit. I remembered the first time she attempted to cook me a meal. It all caught on fire. She was one horrible cooker.
"Aren't you going to work today?" I asked her.
"No...I... I called the office and took a few days off. I'm visiting my parents today." She said softly.
I lowered my eyes after I heard this. Should I go with her as well? I mean, she basically just told me what she would be doing without me having to pry. Maybe I should just accompany her and support her. Now that she needed someone the most. I pondered silently.
"Do you want me to come along?" I asked her.
She quickly looked up at me. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was slightly agape. She looked utterly surprised that I even suggested to tag along.
"What about your job?" She finally asked with a sigh.
"I'll call and explain to them my reasons."
She nodded and casted her eyes down yet again. Not before I noticed a small, faint but genuine smile on her lips.

Emerald's POV~
"My mom is an example of a good mother." Ivette's voice continued to fill her class room as I simply stood beside her.
I didn't really like coming to her school for various reasons. One; because all of the teachers would constantly have their eyes on me in a non discrete manner. Two; because whenever I was able to come to Ivette's parent-teacher conferences, her classmate's parents would also eye me and some would even go as far as to flirt with me. I didn't appreciate all of the eye batting, winks and flirty smiles. Coming from both men and women.
