Emerald's POV~

Sunday mornings were usually spent sleeping in late.

I would be so exhausted by the work-packed schedule that I'd be left absolutely drained by the weekend.

But not today.

Today would be spent on Ivette.

I have been so caught up with my job, meetings, and trips. Not to mention that Candice and Betty constantly occupied my mind, mostly the latter, that I haven't taken a day out for my baby.

It was long overdue if you ask me.

Ever since Scarlett showed up I have felt a gap of some sort between Ivette and me.

Maybe it was the fact that Scarlett got to spend more time with her or the fact that she has grown on Ivette. Either way, it bothered me.

It bothered me because I didn't want Ivette to render herself to Scarlett and end up having a preference for her over me.

I knew that I had to win my baby back.

Although Ivette was very understanding when it came to the time we were able to spend together, she shouldn't have to be dealing with this.

She shouldn't have to find herself cherishing every moment, savoring each and every minute we spent because she knew that our time together was gold.

She should be able to spend every day with me and not worry about when would be the next time we'd be able to do so again. She should be able to be with me and not expect a business call to interrupt our previously planned activities.

If I had the possibility of getting a granted wish, whatever this one was, it would be for me to spend my time endlessly with my daughter.

Without interruptions.

Just Ivette and I.

So when I woke up feeling the need to call Candice, I instantly pushed the thought to the back of my mind.

It's all about Ivette today, I reminded myself.

After a quick shower, I changed into comfortable clothing and headed for Ivette's room.

I sneaked inside without waking her in the process.

My heart warmed at the sight of a sleeping Ivette.

She looked so peaceful. So content. Without a worry in the world. Her beautiful dirty blonde hair was sprawled on her pillow and her mouth was slightly agape.

I took a seat on the edge of her bed and I began to caress her face.

When it came to her physical attributes, Ivette resembled me.

To her small sharp nose and plump lips, to the same ocean blue eyes. Her olive toned skin was also inherited by me.

Although I must admit that her smile was almost identical to Scarlett's.

Scarlett.

She had dropped off a sleeping Ivette yesterday.

I still remember what happened.

*flashback*

"Do I take her to her room?" Scarlett asked the moment I opened the door for her.
