Candice POV~
When Emerald said we would be completely spontaneous today, I instantly pictured us doing the weirdest crap ever. We could have went fishing for all I knew-even that seemed spontaneous enough.
What I didn't expect was for her to take us to the freaking paintball that was located in the woods on the outer skirts of the city.
I didn't even know how this whole thing worked. Like, do I randomly just shoot the first person I see? Or do I have to run around with a clear objective of some sort?
Yeah yeah, I should have paid attention when they were giving off instructions, but I was completely distracted by Emerald to even pay the slightest of attention to the monotone leader. He was in no way capable of being a leader-just voicing my thoughts.
The moment he had begun to speak, my eyes had immediately traveled to Emerald who was already staring at me with the most adorable smile on her face. I don't know what the hell she was planning for today but I could see the determination behind her ocean blue eyes. She was determined about accomplishing something. What it was-I had no idea.
She looked so sexy and so threatening in all her gear that I couldn't help but stare at her. Her helmet was tucked under her arm and I could almost imagine just how badass she'd look in it, once that dark visor covered her face completely. Her chest and abdomen were fully covered by the thick vest and her thighs and knees were clad in protecting pads. Her gun was hanging by her side as she lazily chewed on gum while staring intently at me.
I could feel my insides churning because of that stare.
The I-could-just-take-you-against-a-tree type of stare. I tried not to pay any mind to the moisture that I was beginning to feel between my legs.
Instead, I tried to busy myself with something -anything. And it just so happened to be the heavy ass weapon in my arms. It was so goddamn heavy and I had no idea how I was meant to run around carrying it. I would probably pass out of exhaustion after the first fifteen minutes.
I tried to steady my grip on it, not at all expecting to squeeze the trigger while I was at it. I was only fully aware of what I had done when a guy next to me yelped and held his bare arm that was now drenched in blue paint.
"Oh my God!" I gasped. "I'm so sorry!"
He grimaced and shook off the incident saying it was okay and not to worry. Meanwhile, my heart was on overdrive and I was terrified for the guy. I noticed the huge, nasty bruise that was beginning to cover his arm, where I had accidentally shot him. Even if it was partially covered in paint, I could still see it.
I glanced at Emerald who didn't even bother to cover her laughter. I glared at her and she simply blew a bubble before popping it, continuously chewing on her gum.
Soon the game had begun and everyone scrambled away.
Soon enough Emerald and I were standing alone in the middle of the woods. I still had no clue as to what I would be doing and what was the whole point of the match in the first place.
"So," I drawled out. "What are we supposed to be doing?"
Emerald's helmet clad head turned around to face me and she simply shrugged.
"We're guarding our flag." She pointed to a rock that was a little distance away. "It's buried under that rock."
"So I just shoot anyone that comes near it?" I questioned.
"Pretty much."
Emerald stepped closer towards me, completely invading my personal space. I gulped as I tilted my head back and looked at her face. Or her helmet to be exact. Why did she pick a gas mask looking helmet anyway?
