Candice POV~

"Do you want to go out for lunch?" I asked Nancy as I passed her in the living room.

She was sprawled out in the couch and was having a bottle of water. She looked up from the couch and smiled at me goofily. I hadn't seen that smile on her face in a very long time.

I don't know what happened to the old Nancy, but ever since Alex's funeral, she has changed. I didn't know if it was for the better or for  worse though. I had began to take notice of Nancy's weird behavior.

Like how she would always carry a water bottle with her, or how her leg would bounce up and down repeatedly at times. Her hands were constantly and randomly twitching. Sometimes she seemed lost deep in thought and yet on other occasions she seemed perfectly calm and composed.

I blamed it all on her recent loss. It wasn't easy to forget your twin brother and I assumed she had her moments in which she lost her cool. Though I haven't seen her cry at all ever since the burial. Maybe she got closure after that. But I knew that even though she didn't cry, she felt. And that's what I wanted to help her with. I wanted to help her get it together.

"Sure. I'll just go change." She got up from the couch and headed to our bedroom.

My phone then began to ring and I answered.

"Hey girl! How have you been?" I heard Jane's voice.

Jane has been my friend ever since we were still in elementary . I hadn't seen her in a while because of her job. It constantly kept her on the road and traveling was her time consuming passion .

I didn't think telling her about Alex over the phone would be a good idea.

"I've been doing...well. How about you?" I tried to steer the conversation away from myself.

"I've been doing great actually. I'll be able to visit somewhere around this or next week." She excitedly informed me.

"That's amazing! Can't wait to see you!"

"I can't wait either!"

After a few minutes of talking we ended the conversation and I hung up the call. Twenty minutes later Nancy was ready and we headed out. She had changed into black skinny jeans, white tank top, black leather jacket and brown combat boots. Her blonde hair was perfectly brushed and her bright blue eyes were accentuated by the eyeliner. She looked absolutely stunning. Her face seemed a bit thin but other than that she looked completely fine.

"You look amazing." I complimented her.

She gave me a shy smile and for a moment she didn't seem to know what to say.

"Thanks. You look great as well."

I glanced down at my outfit with a frown. I didn't look well! Nancy chuckled softly at my obvious disagreement to her previous statement. She opened the front door for me and we stepped out in the bustling city.

"Do you want to walk or should we take the car?" Nancy asked me.

"Let's walk!" I eagerly answered.

I haven't had a walk alongside Nancy in so long. Honestly I couldn't even remember when was the last time Nancy and I spent time together during the day. It has been quite a while. My job always kept me busy for the most part. And Nancy...well Nancy was constantly out getting wasted to even consider spending time with me. Sunday's were usually my days off. Nancy rested on both Saturday and Sunday. So she would spend those days drowning herself in alcohol and coming back home to catch a few hours of sleep before she was up restarting her tiring routine.
