Emerald POV~

I walked the halls of one of my many business premises looking for a certain someone.

Now that I actually thought about it, it would have been easier to have called in earlier and have someone lead me to her office.

Of course, I didn't come up with the idea until after spending fifteen minutes roaming the halls in search of her plaque.

Candice O'stenner

Ah, the triumph of finding her office among many others and on my own was quite satisfactory.

I held the tray of coffee with one hand while I knocked on her door softly.

"Come in." Her soft voice called out.

I managed to open the door without spilling my drinks all over the place. I closed the door behind me before facing the beauty that has been living with me for two weeks now.

"Good morning Candie. I understand you take your job seriously and you cannot go for coffee. So today, coffee has come to you." I cheered silently as a smile appeared on her face.

I placed the tray with coffee on her desk along with a bag of freshly baked donuts.

"Wow! I'm impressed." She chuckled. "You took some time out of your day to bring me coffee."

I internally swooned when her gorgeous dimples made a spontaneous appearance.

God, I love those, I couldn't help but think.

"I hope you like strawberry filled donuts. They're my favorite and today I'm willing to share." I smiled goofily.

"Well you seem so on your groove today." She immediately quieted down and rewarded me with a skeptical look. "Wait, is this you trying to make me break my diet...again?"

"What diet?" I played innocent.

"You asshole!" She exclaimed as I burst out laughing.

"Come on, we all know you've been unfaithful for a while now."

It took a few seconds of Candice's silence for me to comprehend the descriptive words I had oh so delicately chosen.

"I am so sorry. That came out wrong." I apologized.

"It's okay."

Two weeks was enough for me to be able to differentiate from Candice's true smile and those dreaded forced ones.

Like the one she had given me just now.

I'm so stupid, I mentally slapped myself.

"Em, really. It's okay, I know what you were trying to say."

"I'm so–"

Her soft lips pressing against mine interrupted my apology. If this was her way of assuring me everything was okay, I would have to start apologizing more often.

"Really Em." She whispered.

Before she could step away from me, I wrapped my arms around her thin waist. I had yearned for this moment for quite some time now and I wasn't going to let the opportunity slip.

So with a slow dip of my head I connected my lips with hers. Her hands caught my shoulders and I pushed her against her very own desk.

I began to fumble with her buttoned shirt as I kissed her passionately. I let out a frustrated sigh when I wasn't able to successfully unbutton her shirt. She laughed at my frustration before grabbing my hands and pushing them away. Helping herself out of her shirt.

I spread her legs apart as I stepped between her thighs. Gently pushing her back against the desk. My hand instantly found it's way to that private place that I had been eager to touch in a while.

There was a loud beep just as Candice let a loud moan escape from her lips.

"Umm...Are you alright Mrs. O'stenner?" The voice of Candice's secretary filled the room's silence.

We both sprang apart with horrified expressions on our faces. Then it dawned on me that we may have accidentally pressed the button on Candice's office phone and dialed her secretary.

I'm guessing Candice realized this the moment I did as well because we both sprang for the phone causing many objects to fall off her desk. We clumsily fumbled with the receiver trying to end the call. Knocking the phone off in the process.

After I rechecked that the call was indeed cut off I faced Candice. Then we both began to laugh.

"That was the most embarrassing moment of my life." Candice groaned, laughed and covered her crimson face with her hands all at the same time.

"Oh come on, she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary." I tried in a failed attempt to comfort her.

"Yeah, like it's so normal to hear your co-worker moaning over the phone. Now I'm going to feel so embarrassed and awkward when I see her."

"You're right. That is really embarrassing and I wouldn't want to be you as of the moment." I admitted honestly.

"I appreciate your sincerity, it's so welcoming and refreshing at the moment." Candice replied sarcastically.

I began to laugh at her sarcasm.

After the awkward change of events Candice and I shared breakfast together. I couldn't keep my eyes away from her as I watched her eating and smiling at whatever I said. It made me feel so complete and happy.

Candice makes me happy, was all I could think.

I was suddenly very thankful for meeting this beautiful woman. And I would rather lose everything than lose someone like her. She was, without a doubt, a keeper. And I would fight like hell to keep her in my life.
