Diego, the guard, had just informed me that Izzy hadn’t left the castle yet. Uncle Harold told me this morning that I would be attending a party at one of the mansions tonight. I had to make an appearance because they had lots of money that could be going towards something for the future.
Because of the party I would not be able to meet Is later. Yesterday had been fun, but now I wish we had spent more time on the matter of my country because we wouldn’t be able to talk today.
I could have sent someone down to tell her, but then I would have had to answer to the question of why I was having secret meetings with Chef Dermen’s daughter.
I was a couple doors down from Izzy’s when I heard her laugh.
“What do you mean you can’t find your pants?” She squealed.
“Uh, they’re here somewhere,” I heard someone else say. It was her boyfriend Josh, and he seemed to be missing his pants. “Have you seen them anywhere?”
Is laughed again. “No! Where did you put them?”
“Not too sure… Where did you put them?”
“I didn’t steal your pants! Check the bed.”
Okay, I did not want to hear anymore. Chef Dermen had told me he would be out of the castle today, but I didn’t think Is would take the opportunity to let her boyfriend spend the night.
I turned and walked quickly away.

“I didn’t steal your pants,” I said. I was laughing so hard I had fallen off the chair and was now sitting on the floor. Somehow, Josh had managed to misplace his pants.
He was stomping around the apartment in just his boxers and t-shirt looking for his shorts.
“Check the bed,” I said pointing to the hide-a-bed he had slept on. He had checked my bed for some reason, but not his own. Why would I have fallen asleep cuddling his pants?
Josh went back over to his bed and ripped off the sheets and pillows. “Found them!” He cheered holding up his brown plaid shorts he had been wearing yesterday.
I smiled and gave him mock applause. He bowed to me.
“What were your shorts doing in the bed?” I asked him.
“Uh…sleeping?”
“You better make that bed Mister,” I said pointing to the pile of cloth that moments ago had resembled a bed.
“Please help me,” Josh said giving me his best puppy dog face. But I could say no to him.
“Nope. I’ll be right back. I’m going to go grab some muffins or something from the kitchen.”
Josh pouted at me. “What kind do you want?” I asked sweetly.
“Blueberry!” He said with a huge smile. Then he recovered from his sudden happiness. “But I’m still mad at you.”
“Aw the big baby is mad I’m not cleaning up after him?” I teased. I ignored the even bigger pout Josh gave me and left the apartment.
I skipped up to the kitchen without getting lost. I was jumpy today, so walking was too slow, but if I ran I would look stupid. Skipping was for those really cool people like moi.
I snatched a chocolate chip, and a blueberry muffin from the rack on the kitchen country. Neither Mikey or his uncle were in the dining hall, just a couple of the staff.
