After Is told me about the cheques, I knew immediately who had placed them there. But I hadn’t shared that knowledge with her, I wasn’t going to tell her until I was one hundred percent sure. Because if I was wrong, Is would apologize profusely to them and she would feel like she was forever in their debt.

Sometimes, having an extremely nice girlfriend is a burden. It means that they feel they owe even the worst of people, and random guys on the street seem to think they’re interested in them.

As soon as Izzy had finished filling me in, she got an idea to go to the bank downtown and see if there was anything they could tell her about the cheques. Diego volunteered to take her, and despite her protests, they left almost right away.

“Your Majesty? Are you alright?” I looked up from where I had been repeated hammering a nail into the wall to see that Sorsa guy that Is had befriended…Timothy.

“Yes, yes, fine,” I muttered. Since I had clued in to who had placed those phoney cheques all I could think of is how I was going to destroy them. My original plan had started out quite violent, it had surprised me, but now my plans were more fun. They involved lots of reputation degrading and would probably secure that they wouldn’t mess with me again.

“The nail is in the wall,” Timothy pointed out.

I was surprised to see that he was right. The nail was actually firmly placed in the wall. I had just been pounding wood.

“Oh right,” I said sheepishly.

“How is Is?” Timothy asked.

“Fine, why would you ask?” I was confused now of how he had gone from talking about the pulp of a wall to my girlfriend.

“Well you seem angry. Please excuse me, but I thought it had something to do with Is.”

I’m pretty sure most of the people of Sorsa knew we were dating now. Yesterday I had kept stopping what I was doing just to watch her or think of her. If I had been stalkerish before, I was even more so now.

“No everything is great. She just uncovered some disturbing information last night.”

“But she is alright?” Timothy pressed. I don’t know what he thought of Is, but I hadn’t realized that he cared so much about her.

“Yeah, she’s great. She’s still being Is,” I said.

“So this information that is bothering you, it does not involve her?”

I wanted to snap at Timothy for prying into the private life of his king, but I knew he was only doing it because she wanted to know for sure if Is was alright or not.

“No it doesn’t, she is just being the big hero and trying to fix things.”

Timothy studied me, like he was trying to make sure I really wasn’t lying to him.

After a moment he nodded. “But are you alright, it isn’t too bad is it?”

“Nothing Is won't be able to fix,” I muttered.

Timothy must have realized that talking to me anymore was just pointless because he went back to where he had been cutting wood. Timothy was one of the people that put in a lot of free hours to help us with the build. He was a good person.

I could understand why Timothy had been so alarmed by my actions. Just yesterday I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Izzy, and today, it would have looked like to anyone else that I sent her away quite fast and was now angrily attempting to beat up a wall.
