~Isabelle~

I managed, barely, to contain my laughter. Mikey was in the front seat and we were almost back to the castle after the kidnapping and interview session with Timothy.

Mikey was sitting in the front seat next to Diego, and he was bouncing around like crazy.

“What’s so funny?” Mikey demanded hearing my muffled laughter. He turned in his seat and glared at me.

“When I came back from there with my friends they were all depressed and moppy. I think only you could come back happier than when we left.”

“Are you implying that I’m not your friend?” He asked.

“No. I’m just saying. That’s not exactly a happy situation.”

Diego pulled up in the front of the castle doors and said that we could get out and he was going to go park it around back. Mikey and I got out and continued our conversation as we went up into the castle.

“I’m just really happy that I got the chance to see that. I’ve never been outside the town before,” Mikey admitted.

I shrugged. “You are king, you should have the opportunity to see all of the country,” I said keeping my voice low in case Harold was near.

Suddenly Mikey hugged me. “Thank you so much Izzy. Everyone always expects things from me and never expects to do things for me in return,” he whispered into my hair.

“You deserve so much more than what you give yourself credit for,” I whispered back. It felt weird to talk any louder right now.

“So you’re not together right?” Jessica asked as she scowled at us.

“I was just thanking Is,” Mikey said stepping away from me.

“And what would you need to thank her for?” Jessica crossed her arms over her chest. “Oh and nice clothes.”

Mikey looked down at what he was wearing and realized he was still wearing my disguise for him. “Is took me on a normal shopping trip in town,” he lied smoothly answering both the stated and implied question.

I guess it was partly true though. I had taken him to town, for a little bit, and I had shopped, for like ten minutes. But Jessica hadn’t asked for specifics, so I guess it was irrelevant.

“And you needed to find the ugliest thing possible?” She sneered, then under her voice, but still loud enough for me to hear, she said, “Besides your gold digger girlfriend.” She nodded to me and smiled pleasantly.

“He made the mistake of letting me choose, so I had some fun,” I explained ignoring her last comment.

Mikey didn’t though. “Jessica, simply because you may not like Isabelle, is no reason to make up reasons to have her evicted and to call her ugly.”

Jessica put on her innocent face. “I wouldn’t dare do those things!” Mikey and I both shook our heads at her.

“So what have you been doing today?” I asked Jessica politely. Whenever I see her around the castle she is always looking through some bridal magazine or just staring at me. It’s more than a little creepy.

“Oh I just woke up, I was going to head down to the pool and tan,” she said with a wave of her hand. I knew she was either lying about the waking up thing, or she was just very lazy. It was two in the afternoon. I think sleeping in past eleven on really lazy days is a waste.

“We’ll meet you down there,” I said speaking for both Mikey and I.

“That sounds great,” Jessica said smiling largely at Mikey and completely ignoring me.
