~Michael~
Do you know how hard it is to try and beat someone at foose ball, when all you can hear in one ear is two teenage girls going on and on about a guy? Especially if one of those girls happens to be the one you want more than anything to be with even though people have gone out of their way to keep her out of your life?
“I don’t know why you broke up with him,” Nora said in disgust as she took a sip of the coke she had stolen from the kitchen a while ago. Nora and Is were sitting on the couch behind Adam talking while I played him at fooseball. Liam and Josh were playing chess at the table. It was raining today so no one really wanted to go outside.
Is smiled and shook her head. Her ringlets dancing around her prefect little elfish face.
“I told you, we’re better as friends.” What about me and her? Would Is think we were good as friends forever? I spun one of my rods of people and the ball went flying into Adam’s net.
“Oh please,” Nora said. “If someone that hot was interested in me, I wouldn’t be just friends with them.” Adam popped the ball back into the box, purposely towards his people so he could hit it first.
“Jamie used to be interested in me. He isn’t anymore,” Is denied. Oh she was so clueless.
“You poor stupid girl,” Nora said shaking her head. “That boy is still crazy for you, he always has been.”
“No he isn’t.”
“He flew all the way out here to chance seeing you!” Okay, I don’t know if that is true. Would some guy actually do that for Is? That’s a stupid question, of course they would.
“Do you girls have to talk about Izzy’s exes?” I asked frustrated that that was all Nora had insisted on talking about since Is told her we had seen him yesterday.
“Somebody’s jealous,” Adam sang out, but not loud enough for Is to hear thankfully.
“Shut up,” I shot back. Nora of course noticed my anger, but Is didn’t. Why did she have to be so oblivious?
“If a hot guy likes you, you should defiantly give them a chance,” Nora said while staring at me with a knowing smile. I twisted my rod thing and the ball went ricocheting off the walls of the fooseball table before securing it self in Adam’s net. He looked up at me a little scared but I ignored him.
Is just looked confused. “I already gave him a chance and we decided that we were just going to stay friends.”
“I didn’t mean just Jamie, even though I still don’t understand why you broke up with him, I meant any hot guy who is interested in you.”
“Jamie, and no other hot guy is interested in me Nora,” Is said confidently. Everyone in the room laughed and she just looked around bewildered. “What?”
“Well you can believe what you want,” Liam said after another couple seconds of laughing, “but I can name someone who likes you right now.”
“And he’s completely whipped…” Adam said while looking at me out of the corner of his eye. Our fooseball game was forgotten momentarily.
Josh went to speak up, I didn’t know what he was thinking of saying would be good or bad for me, so I talked over him.
“I’m going to go get a snack, anybody else want anything?” I wanted Izzy to know I liked her, but I didn’t want her to find out from her friends, not that she would believe them if they told her.
No one said anything. “I’ll come down with you,” Is said leaping up off the couch. She probably just wanted to avoid talking about Jamie again.
