His all! This is very important for you to read or else there's gonna be one heck of a confusion. This story is actually developed from my One Shot, One Flashback entry on Radish. This first part will be the short story (which happened to be one of the honorable mentions!). And there on the real plot will begin. So lay back and enjoy!

(One Shot, One Flashback. Short story version.)

I sighed, irritated as yet another woman sat beside me trying to get me to talk. I attract women. That's no surprise. But lately its been a pain in backside.

"C'mon Alex. Let's go to my room. I won't tell your girlfriend." The nameless blond snickered.

That did it. I lost my patience when she mentioned my girlfriend. I grabbed my gun from my holster and slammed it on the table. The blond stared at my silver beauty for a second before scuttling away.

This time I snickered.

"Serves her right, man." The bartender chortled while placing my double shot in front of me.

I said nothing. Instead I downed the drink in a gulp and leant back on the soft back of the chair as my eyes closed. So many unwanted memories had been bombarding me for the past two days. It's really annoying, knowing that I haven't thought about her for over a year now.

My girlfriend...

Not anymore. We had been engaged.

I can still sense her surprise as if was a few minutes ago. But in reality, it was nearly 2 freaking years ago.

I had planned a quiet dinner at the cabin where we used to sneak away from the harsh world. The cabin was like our little fortress. No one knew about it. Not even my father.

She was wearing a pair of faded jeans and knitted pullover which pretty much disguised her curves. But she was beautiful. As always.

We were sitting on the rockers. She was staring at the stars with such admiration while I was staring at her wondering how did I get this lucky. Her red hair was long and a little wild. I loved the soft curls even though she thinks they're messy.

"May?"

She shifted her green eyes to me. "Yes Alex?"

"You know that I'm crazy about you, right?"

"Of course. You remind me all the time!" She laughed.

I smiled at the carefree sound. When we're together, I tend to forget the rest of the world. It's the magic of her innocence and honesty that keeps her joyful. People around her tend to be happy too...like me, right now.

"Will you marry me?"

I watched as her eyes widened in utter surprise. "W..what?"

I kept my silence, gazing at her.
