I stared at the ring for a little while longer, still thinking. I knew everyone was getting impatient.

I took a deep breath before answering.

"Yes Bryson. I'll marry you."

The crowd of people cheered as Bryson picked me up spun me around. Once he put me down he gave me numerous pecks on the lips.

"I'm glad you answered, 'cause my knee was gettin' tired."

I chuckled, pulling his face towards mine giving him another kiss.

"Now are y'all ready to celebrate Jailee and Bryson's engagement for the rest of the night?!" Drake said into the mic as the crowd went crazy once again.

I headed for the dance floor again waiting for Bryson to chug down his sixth Long Island by the bar.

I was looking around at all the people dancing and all the flashing lights before Bryson hugged me from behind.

"I can't wait to make you mine officially and give you my last name." He said in my ear.

"Me too, baby." I said even though I was still kind of unsure of how I really felt.

He started kissing up my neck sending chills down my spine.

"Once we can have sex again I'm gonna be knee deep in that pussy." He said slipping his hands up my dress.

"Okay Bryson, you've had way too much to drink."

"What makes you say that?" He asked.

"You know we can't have sex yet I don't know why you're acting like this."

"The more you crave it the better the sex will be when we have it."

Bryson logic.

"Shouldn't we be going anyway? You know I hate leaving Trent alone."

"Nah, this shit is just gettin' started. This shit jumpin'."

"Well you're not the one that has to wake up every two hours because of Trent."

"That's your son. You gotta take care of your motherly duties."

"He's just as much of your son as he is mine, Bryson." I said clinging onto his firm arm.

"I said I ain't ready to go." He said snatching his arm away.

"It's not about what you wanna do when you have a child. Two at that Bryson!"

"I don't know who you raisin' your voice at 'cause it sure ain't me, Jailee."

"Fine, go ahead I'll tell Lauren and Devvon to leave with me and you can go call yourself a über or something and find your own way home."

"That's fine with me Jailee."

"Just stop it Bryson!" I shouted. "You know I hate that shit when you call me by my full name! The liquor and fame have gotten to your head! Stop being petty and man up to your responsibilities. Talk to me tomorrow when your sober so you can actually comprehend what I'm saying."

I didn't even give him a chance to reply. I stormed all through the place before finding Lauren and Devvon and leaving.

"Mom!" I shouted walking into the house.

"I'm in here!" She yelled from the living  room where she was watching one of her lifetime movies while Trent and Harley were asleep.

"What is this?!" She said stunned looking at the engagement ring.

"Bryson proposed." I simply said.

"This must've costed him a fortune. Look at all the bling coming from it!" She exclaimed. "Speaking of that, where is Bryson?" She asked.

"He's still out he had to help one of his friends out with something he'll be home soon." I lied.

Then she had that certain facial expression on her face that all mothers have that told me she didn't buy my excuse.

"How were the kids?" I asked avoiding the subject.

"JuJu was an angel." She said calling Trebt by the nickname she made up. "He barely cried and he was sleeping for the whole time. And Harley was an angel as always. She was busy playing dolls and watching Doc McStuffins the whole time. They gave me no problems."

"Thank you so much for watching them, ma." I thanked her.

"Are you okay with being here by yourself with the kids? Because if you are I can wait till Bryson comes back."

"No Mom, it's fine. You should get your rest. Bryson will be here soon."

"Alright Jai. I'll talk to you in the morning." She said stepping out the front door.

"Drive safe! Love you!" I shouted to her before closing the front door.

I looked at Trent sleeping peacefully in his crib. I stood there a while thinking:

Is Trent the reason why Bryson and I are rushing into it? Or is it because he thinks he has some sort of lock on me now that we're engaged? Does he even have any intentions of marrying me? Did he do it because the media wanted him to? Was it because he would get lots of publicity from it?

As luxurious as it may sound to be with a platinum album winning celebrity, it isn't all it's cracked up to be. I have to worry about me and Bryson's issues at home and look over my shoulder every five seconds to see if the media's there.

Life is stressful, but somehow I manage to cope with it. The last thing I would want is for Trent and Harley to be caught in the middle of all of it which is why I try to keep a distance between the kids and the media.

"You're still up?" Bryson's deep voice said startling me.

I was so deep into my thoughts that I didn't even hear the door open.

"I know you gon be mad at me for a while, but I hated how fast shit had to escalate tonight. One minute we were all happy then the next we're pissed off at each other."

I remained quiet avoiding eye contact with him.

"You was right." He said nervously scratching the back of his neck.

"Hurts to say those words, don't it?" I said looking up at him.

"Yeah. You were, you always are." He sighed. "When Harley was born it wasn't too long after that me and Lexi broke up. After that I didn't see Harley ask much and I didn't have much time to learn how to mature and become a father. I was used to goin' to clubs and stayin' out late forgettin' that I had other responsibilities. It might take a while, but imma change. For Trent, for Harley, and for you."
