Riley tried talking to Isaac at school the next day, but he just ignored her every chance he got. What is happening around here? Why is everyone acting so differently?
Riley was walking down the hall, her head down as she stared at the floor, thinking about any possibilities of why everyone is being strange lately. Maybe Isaac is acting out like this because of his father's death. But she didn't understand, Isaac wouldn't act different if his dad died. He hated his dad, if anything he would be slightly happier. Maybe he's sad that he's an orphan? No, she didn't think he really cares that much. Maybe he's sad because he think he's really alone now. That must be it. Riley had to cheer him up.
She was immersed in her own thoughts that she wasn't watching where she was going, and bumped into Scott McCall.
"Oh, sorry Scott. I wasn't paying attention." She mumbled, and she still wasn't paying attention to him. She helped him steady himself as he smiled at her.
"It's okay, I wasn't either." He replied, and chuckled a little. She smiled back, noticing Stiles next to him.
"Hey, Stiles, how are you guys?" She asked, sparking a random conversation. She didn't know what caused her to talk to them, since she hardly ever does. The only times she does talk to them is when they ask for her homework so they can copy.
"We're good, you?" Stiles asked, eyeing her suspiciously. She didn't blame him, they haven't really had a proper conversation before.
"Yeah, I'm okay. It's a bit warm today--" She cut herself off when she saw Isaac at the top of the hallway. "Excuse me, sorry. Nice to talk to you guys!"
She rushed off to Isaac, leaving them in the middle of the hallway. When Riley arrived, he looked at her and his smile faded into a stern look. Isaac took her arm and dragged her all the way to Coach Finstock's office. Lucky he wasn't in there.
"We're not allowed to be in here, you know that?" Riley asked as he shut and locked the door. He shut the blinds on the door and window, finally looking at her.
"I've decided to tell you what's been going on with me."
"Finally! I was really worrying about you." Riley replied, as she leaned on the desk. He sighed, and stared at her shoes intensely. He looked like he was trying to find the right words to say, but couldn't. Suddenly, his head perked up as he looked at the door.
"We need to be alone. This place isn't quiet enough. Too many..." He trailed off, opening the door unexpectedly. And there they were, Scott and Stiles with their ears against the door. They jumped back when they saw Isaac and her, Isaac glaring at them intensely.
"Oh, hey guys... Didn't know you were in there. Why were you in there?" Stiles asked, frowning at Isaac.
"Enjoyed yourselves?" Isaac asked, before scoffing and walking away. She followed him, looking curiously at Scott. He looked worried. Why? Why were they there in the first place? Were they spying on them? Why did Riley get the feeling that they know something's up?
Isaac got into his car and she followed, even though they were in the middle of the school day. The security is awful, so obviously no one would notice or care if someone left during class, since a lot of people do it anyway.
They drove in silence, as she kept glancing at the side of his face. He had this permanent frown on his face as he stared directly in front of him. Riley was so confused by his behavior, and also Scott's and Stiles' as well. What do they know and what do they have to do with Isaac? Ever since Isaac has involved himself with Derek Hale, he's become very detached.
They drove through town and arrived at a tall building, then she realized that we were going to Derek's apartment.
"Why did you bring me here?" She asked as she got out of the car. He locked the car and looked at her.
