Riley took a deep breath and sat up onto the table, watching Dr. Deaton as he placed a number of jars on the table next to her which contained lots of different powders and plants. He placed a glass of water onto the table as well, and Riley assumed that it was in case she passed out or something. She really didn't know why.

"This isn't going to hurt, will it?" She asked, and Deaton looked at her uneasily.

"It won't hurt much. But don't worry, you'll get through it." He comforted, but Riley didn't feel any better. He was about to give her something that might kill her, so of course she would be a bit nervous. He opened up a jar that had purple powder inside of it.

"That's wolfsbane, isn't it? I've read about it, doesn't it poison werewolves and humans?" Riley asked, pointing at it. Deaton nodded, as he carefully scooped a spoonful out and poured it into the glass of water. Oh, that's what it's for. He stirred it around a couple of times before handing it to Riley.

"Drink." He ordered, and Riley looked at it.

"You have the antidote, right?" She asked, and Deaton nodded, holding up a single flower petal. "The flower itself has healing properties as well as deadly ones, if consumed and treated correctly."

"Right. So if I started having a seizure or something, you're going to put that in my mouth?" She asked, and he nodded. She looked back at the glass in her hand and took a deep breath again, before taking a big sip of it. She swallowed the poisoned water and licked her lips, tasting almost nothing. It almost tasted like flavourant.

"Huh, that actually tasted nicer than I thought. I thought you said that this was supposed to hurt?" She asked, and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Interesting. Do you feel okay?" He asked, and Riley took the time to see how she felt.

"Yeah, pretty much okay." She nodded, and Deaton put the flower petal back into the jar full of the purple powder. He took the glass of water and tipped it down the drain, where he used the sink in the corner to wash it out and refill it.

"Good. Now that we know Kanima venom cannot poison you, and neither can wolfsbane. Next thing is an Alpha werewolf's saliva." He listed as he walked back to table. He picked up what looked like an eyedropper and looked into it.

"Are you seriously going to squeeze saliva into my eyes? That's disgusting. Whose saliva is that?" She asked, and automatically leaned her body away from the doctor. He chuckled and shook his head.

"Of course not Riley, that isn't very hygienic. I'm going to squeeze it into your mouth." He explained, but Riley was still opposed to the idea.

"That's still gross. There's no way I'm having someone else's saliva in my mouth." She refused, and Deaton sighed.

"Would you rather have an Alpha bite you?" He asked, and she contemplated.

"To be honest, yes, because it wouldn't be as gross as this is." She replied, and folded her arms across her chest. He shrugged and put the dropper down.

"It's up to you. The next thing is..." He trailed off, and picked up a jar that had a mistletoe plant inside. "Mistletoe."

"Aren't these things just poisonous all together? What are you trying to find out?" She asked, and Dr. Deaton pulled the plant out.

"I'm trying to test something and so far it's supporting my point." He said, his eyes focused on the plant as he put it inside the clean glass of water. Riley sighed and took the glass, where she saw the mistletoe dissolve and the leaves floating up to the top.

"Okay then. Cheers." She replied sarcastically, as she emptied the glass into her mouth. She scrunched her face up and suddenly threw herself forward as she dropped the glass onto the floor and gripped the edge of the table. The glass flew and smashed onto the ground into a million little pieces.
