"Okay, but this isn't positive, it's a negative. What do I do?" Olivia called out over the loud noise Boyd's machine was making. Riley was sitting in the stands on her phone, watching Olivia hitching a ride with Boyd as she bugged him more about her maths. Her forearm itched because of the bandage that covered the marks which Isaac gave to her.

"It's the same, only you put the negative sign in front." Boyd replied, but Riley could hardly hear them from where she was. But she could hear Olivia's distressed sounds, which told her that she did not understand anything.

"My maths test is tomorrow and I don't fucking get it!" She yelled, almost pushed to tears. Boyd turned off his machine and turned to Olivia.

"Olivia, you need to calm down. It's not the end of the world. You're thinking about this too much, alright? Think about it like this: A bad grade is better than no grade. At least you're trying to understand this. A lot of people wouldn't even bother."

"You're saying that I'll get a bad grade? Are you serious--"

"I'm not saying that you will. But with all of this hard work you're doing, I won't be surprised that you get a good grade, okay? Look, if there is one negative, you put it in the front. If there is two negatives, you don't put it in the front. You know why?" Boyd quizzed, and Olivia looked at him solemnly.

"Two negatives make a positive." She answered, and Boyd nodded.

"Right. If it's a negative and a positive, it's going to be negative. Just like us. You're the negative, and I'm the positive. I'm positive that you will get pass, but you don't think so. If you continue to think that, the outcome will always be negative. A positive and a positive make a what?" He asked, and Olivia mumbled an answer. "Right, a positive. So if we are both positive, you will get a positive mark. Stop thinking so much. The answers are right in front of you."

Damn, Riley thought that Boyd was like a philosopher. He should be a professional pep-talker. His machine started back up and they continued to ride the ice. All of this water-related things made her need to pee.

"Going to go pee okay?" She called, and got up to walk to the toilets. She did her business, then washed her hands. She looked down at her arm, and decided to take the bandage off. She's had it on for so long, and she thought that it would be okay by now. She slowly took it off, then saw four distinct scars that looked pretty healed to her. She threw the bandage into the trash and was just about to go before she got a message from Olivia, which read that Scott had arrived and she bolted. She absolutely hated Scott, because of all of the crap that Jackson told her about him. Honestly, Riley didn't even mind Scott that much, but because Olivia didn't like him, she didn't really like him either. She rolled her eyes and walked out quietly, where she spotted Scott on the ice talking to Boyd. She still couldn't believe that Olivia had abandoned her like that.

She missed their whole conversation, but decided to stay and watch what would happen. Boyd shut off his machine and sighed, looking at Scott.

"He told me about the hunters." He said, and Scott frowned at him.

"And that's not enough for you to say no? Whatever you want, there are other ways to get it." He asked, and Riley was wondering what the hell they were talking about.

"I just don't want to eat lunch alone everyday." Boyd interrupted, which hurt Riley a little. Olivia and her sit with him, do they not count?

"If you're looking for friends, you can do a lot better than Derek." Scott said, and Riley realized. Holy shit, is Boyd considering turning into a werewolf? No way, Riley could not handle another person in her life to become a werewolf. Jesus, why does this town have to turn to shit?

"That really hurts, Scott." Out of nowhere, Derek, Erica, and to her surprise, Isaac had appeared behind Scott. He turned around, shocked to see them there. "I mean, if you're going to review me, at least take the consensus. Erica, how has your life been since we met?"

Erica stood twirling her hair, as she thought about the question. Riley had her eyes on Isaac the whole time; she didn't understand why he was around these people. He said that he only had Riley... But it looks like he has a lot more than he claims he does.

"In one word... Transformative." She replied, and growled at Scott. Well, Riley was not so surprised that Erica was a werewolf, like, look at her. She's completely changed.

"Isaac?" Derek asked. Riley turned all of her attention to Isaac, wondering what he would say.

"Well, I'm a little sad that I'm a fugitive, but other than that, I feel great."

Riley was shocked to hear this. So he was great? Is he serious? Because of him, Riley had been in the worst pain she has ever experienced. Because of Derek, she lost her best friend. All of this was Derek's fault. She grew angry, but she couldn't do anything. She was still a bit scared of all of them. She hoped that nothing happened to Boyd. If something did, she promised herself that she would step in, unlike with that happened to Erica at the rock climb.

"Okay, hold on! This isn't exactly a fair fight." Scott replied, and Derek shrugged.

"Then go home, Scott."

Wow, Derek really was an ass. How did all of these innocent people get caught up with him? Riley wished that Isaac hadn't fallen pray to Derek's ways. How are they even friends?

Erica and Isaac started walking towards him, hatred written all over their face. Oh shit, they're going to fight.

Scott bent down and smashed his fist into the ice, breaking it. Damn, Riley felt bad for Boyd. What was he going to say to his boss?

Scott looked up, and his eyes were glowing, just like Isaac's were when she first saw them.

"I meant fair for them." He growled, and roared threateningly. Riley stayed behind the stands, holding onto the bars. She couldn't leave, she needed to make sure that Isaac was going to be okay.

Riley was left speechless. Scott had become the winner, but he was not matched against Derek, who was an Alpha. Riley felt bad for all of them, but she was still very angry at Isaac.

They had all left, except for Scott. Riley hid behind the stands, careful not to make any sounds. She even held her breath as they passed, not wanting them to notice her. But the thing that concerned her was that they didn't notice her, even though that is what she wanted. They're werewolves, don't they have heightened senses? Can't they hear heartbeats or smell other people from miles away?

Riley couldn't think about that, she had to go do something. She had to help Scott. She got out from behind the stands and quickly walked to Scott, who was lying on the ground and holding his chest. He was still a werewolf. Riley hoped that he changed before she got to him. She skipped over the barrier and carefully hurried over to him, kneeling down beside him.

"Riley? You shouldn't be here. What are you doing here?" He asked, and he continued to wheeze.

"Well, Olivia, Boyd and I were studying until you came and crashed the party." She replied, and struggled to help him sit up. He grimaced in pain as he held his stomach. "Why did you come here?"

"I came to try and... Convince Boyd not to give in, but he already has." He said in disappointment, then frowned at Riley. "When did you get here? I didn't sense you at all. I didn't even know you were here before."

"I was in the bathroom when you came. Then I hid behind the stands and watched you guys fight. It was really scary, I didn't want to leave in case someone got killed and I was going to be a witness. Well, not really, I just wanted to make sure that Isaac was okay. But it seemed like you beat his ass, so he may not be." She explained, but Scott was still confused.

"But, I would have known if you were here. I would have heard your heartbeat or sensed you... Hang on." He said, and frowned as he listened carefully. Riley sat there, waiting for him to hear something. She suddenly became self conscious of her heartbeat, if that was a thing. "I can't hear your heartbeat. I can't smell your scent. What is going on with me?"

"Well, you did just get beat up, maybe that's just messing you up. Your body is focusing on healing yourself. Come on, I'll take you home." Riley reassured, and helped him up. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and she wrapped hers around his waist, his other arm on his stomach. They both walked out of the rink and to Riley's car.
