Riley slammed the book shut and stared into the mirror opposite her and almost shrieked as she saw a silhouette of a large warrior that surrounded her. It was transparent but easy to see and was dressed in animal skin that had blood stains on it. The figure was holding a large spear and in its belt contained two blades in a deep shade of red. Riley looked up at its face and saw the same woman she saw in the pictures and flashbacks. She noticed her own eyes, and was shocked to see that they were too glowing a bright metallic-grey just as the woman's eyes were. Riley slowly got up and walked over to the mirror. The woman stayed with her like a magnet. Like a shield.
Somehow, Riley did not feel scared. The heavy feeling from her chest had lifted and she looked almost comfortable to see the woman with her, standing over her.
"Hello, Riley." The woman spoke, and Riley smiled at her. When she spoke, Riley felt a warmth that she had never experienced before. It was like a sense of security, only much better.
"Hi. You're my ancestor, the one in the pictures? The one in the memories. You're Emma Beacon." She stated, and the woman nodded.
"I am. I am the guardian of the Beacon Family. I protect from the supernatural and mask you from them." She said. Riley smiled at her reflection, and all of a sudden there was a loud knock on her door.
Riley quickly looked over at the door then back at the mirror, where she only saw herself and her eyes as a dull, brown. She hurried over to her bed and packed everything back into the box and locked it, hiding it under her bed with the key in her pocket.
"Come in!" She called out, chilling on her bed with her phone in her hand. Her mother entered the room and looked around the room before smiling at Riley.
"I brought some dinner home since your father has given up on cooking. Come downstairs." She declared, and Riley nodded. She shut the door and Riley heard her walk down the steps. Riley bolted up from her bed and grabbed the box, creeping over to her door and opening it a crack to see if the coast was clear. She quickly ran out and down the hall where she put the box back to where it was.
After she restored the key back onto the string in the drain, she travelled downstairs to find a nice dinner on the table. Her dad was sitting at the table and looked a bit sad that he couldn't cook it himself but Riley thought that he was just being childish. She sat down and soon her mother joined them.
They were finally having a nice dinner together, as a family.

Riley was with Derek's pack to wish Isaac luck before she went to Lydia's party alone. Olivia was grounded because she went to a party instead of doing her homework. She wished that Isaac would go with her, but she knew what the full moon could do to someone like him. She'd rather not endure that again.
All of the betas were starting to get chained to the subway by Derek and Riley leaned on the pole in distress. She didn't want to see Isaac like that, but she needed to be with him in that moment. Boyd was chained up all nice and snug, and Derek started with Erica.
"What if we break free?" He asked, and Derek prepared what looked like a crown with spikes for Erica.
"Then you'll do whatever you can to get out of here. Probably try to kill me, then kill each other, and kill anything else with a heartbeat." He explained, then nodded to Isaac who was standing behind Erica. "I need you to hold her."
Isaac wrapped his arms under her armpits and held her shoulders so she wouldn't move. She gripped onto the pole next to her as she tried to embrace the situation.
"Wait, what are you going to do to her?" Riley interrupted, as she moved closer to Derek. He sighed and looked at her in a bored manner.
"I'm going to put this headband on her so she will be distracted by the pain. Hopefully she won't focus on the moon as much. She can withstand more pain than the other two." He replied, and Riley understood. She didn't think it was humane though. He looked at Erica and nodded. "You ready?"
"Yeah." She mumbled as she tightened her grip on the pole. Derek put the headband over her head and started to tighten the screw at the front, and Erica slithered in discomfort and pain. Riley swore she heard bone crack. Werewolf or not, brain damage typically was not a good thing.
As he tightened it, Erica writhered more and more and screamed in agony, as Boyd and Isaac looked away. Riley cringed at the sound and it made her beyond uncomfortable. She couldn't wait for it to be over.
Of course, one part of her enjoyed seeing the werewolf suffer, which was the part that she does not agree with.
"Stop enjoying this. It's awful." Riley mumbled quietly, and her mouth stretched into a smile. She tried to control it, but it was hard to. Luckily everyone was distracted by the screams of Erica.
"This is entertainment for me. I have not seen this in a long time." A voice spoke in Riley's head. At least she thought that it was inside of her head, since no one seemed to notice.
Some time went by and it was Isaac's turn. He was sat a little far up in the subway, away from Erica and Boyd. They both were definitely feeling the effects of the full moon; it made Riley hurt. She watched in concern as Isaac and Derek exchanged words, worrying about how he would hold up. She wanted to stay, but they all thought that it was a bad idea, even though most of them know that she is not human.
"Alright, that should do it." Derek announced, and Isaac pulled on his restraints. The seat in front of him that he was attached to broke free, which worried everyone.
"Well, shit." Riley mumbled, she heard growls behind her. Erica and Boyd's eyes were glowing. She felt very on guard, and felt her protector rise up in a demeaning way.
"Riley, get out of here." Isaac growled, and Riley ran over to him as Derek stood in front of her to protect her from Erica and Boyd. Isaac was starting to get hit by the effects of the moon as well, but he tried to fight it.
"Good luck Isaac, fight through it. I believe in you." Riley rushed, and out of nowhere she grabbed his head and kissed his forehead, before giving him a reassured smile and taking off, out of the warehouse and into the harsh, cold night.
