Riley woke up early in the morning again by a text from Isaac, telling her to meet him at the usual place. But since Riley had stayed up all night doing the homework that was due the following day, she decided to ignore him and sleep in a little more.

She wasn't aware that Isaac too had been up all night, recounting the death of his father over and over again in his head.

She hadn't seen him ever since the police took him away, but she had no motivation to see him about it so early in the morning - she could just talk to him later about it.

She got up in a rush, checking the time on her phone which read 8:30 - she slept in. She hurried up and got dressed, having no time for a shower as she just drenched herself in deodorant. She fixed her hair and makeup and got her done-the-night-before homework and sprinted off, grabbing an energy drink from the fridge on the way.

She quickly drove to school, parked it in her favourite place and dashed off, arriving half way through 2nd period.

"Sorry I'm late Miss, I slept in." She said, and slid into her seat next to her table partner who she didn't know. Her teachers never assign partners themselves, so Riley always chose Olivia to be her partner and never noticed anyone else in the class. But today was different, because she had an ass of a teacher.

"You're just in time Riley. Ready to present your speech?" The teacher, Miss Douglas asked. Riley looked around in her pencil case and saw a battered piece of paper which had the title, 'English speech' written messily across the top. She stood up and walked down to the front, facing the class. Speaking in public didn't really bother her that much, seeing that all of her peers aren't even remotely important to her.

"Good morning, class, I'm going to address the topic of fairy tales and why they're misleading and poisoning children's minds." Riley started. The teacher chose the topic and instructed whether or not to argue for or against the topic. Riley chose against, because they're always more negative outcomes than positive.

She looked down at the piece of paper she held and skimmed down it, then mentally swore at herself for what it said at the bottom of the page;

Improvise.

She couldn't believe how much of an asshole she was to herself. Now that she's come to think of it, she never has really even researched her topic. So she did what the paper told her.

"Right, so, fairy tales are creating a negative image in children's mind because they're misleading..." She went on, and paused when she realized that she repeated herself. "I've already said that, okay... Um, fairy tales are nothing more than just a bunch of stupid myths that a bunch of old people made up to give false hope to children and fill their minds with all sorts of propaganda stuff like... Fairies, for instance. Fairies are nothing more than a supernatural myth that has been going around for centuries. Fairies, and vampires, and... Werewolves or any kind of supernatural being isn't real. It's been proven by many case studies and scientists everywhere, and it's also just common sense to know that the supernatural doesn't exist."

Riley didn't know what she was saying, she was just spilling out everything that came to her mind. After she was done, the class clapped and shared a few odd looks. She went back to her table and glanced at Olivia's seat, which was empty. Wasn't really a surprise, since today was the day that she was going to have to present her speech.

The speeches went on, then the bell went to signal the end of class. Riley went to her locker and threw her stuff inside, then almost had a heart attack when she found Isaac on the other side of her locker door.

"Isaac, what?" She said, scowling at him. He kept his face straight, and tugged on her arm as he pulled her to his locker. "Isaac, hello?"

He didn't bother answering her burning questions, instead focusing more on himself as a frown dug into his face more and more as the seconds went by. Finally, he looked up at Riley, as if he figured out what he was going to say.

"Where were you this morning? I texted you, it was important." He said, and Riley sighed.

"I hardly had any sleep last night so I thought that I'd deserve a sleep in. What was so important?" She replied, looking at him with concern. Isaac rarely had anything that upset him (besides his home life, of course) so Riley was stepping on eggshells.

When he didn't answer straight away, she leaned on his locker and grabbed his arm in comfort, looking at him worriedly.

"Isaac, what is it?"

He ruffled his hair and finally looked at her after looking around the corridor, making sure no one was listening.

He leaned in and said, "your wish came true," and Riley frowned.

"Wish? What wish?" She asked loudly, and Isaac dryly chuckled in shock, as if he couldn't believe that she didn't remember.

"You'll find out, don't worry." He said, and walked off. Wow, so much for telling me, Riley thought.
