It was the day of the first lacrosse game of the season, and Riley's mum actually looked like she was going to attend. She had cancelled all of her plans for the day and even went out to buy a banner that displayed the school logo and name on it to support the team playing. She was wearing a nice burgundy top matched with some jeans and heels. She looked pretty stoked. Dad had told Riley the day before that he would try to make it, but then made a remark saying that he shouldn't bother because she wasn't even on the team. But she let it slide, knowing that his job was hard.

Riley was still angry at Isaac for attacking Scott the other week. He had sent her so many texts, but she didn't respond. She didn't want to. She thought that Isaac was a good person, that he thought for himself. But of course not, Derek was ruining him. Derek did this to him, now he isn't the same person anymore.

Riley was just wearing a t-shirt and jacket, matched with jeans and boots. Nothing spectacular, since she was only going to see people that she saw everyday. She checked her phone for the time, which was 5:30pm. They had an hour until the game started. She went downstairs to see her mum talking on the phone, but she quickly hung up when she saw Riley enter the living room. She held her phone up, showing Riley that it was, for once, on silent. She smiled widely, then put it in her pocket.

"Now, it's just you and me! I expect you to do the same." She said, and Riley nodded, repeating her actions with her phone. "So, I was thinking we could go out for dinner, then we could we go to the game! How does that sound?"

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that should be fun."

They walked out of the house, making sure everything was locked, then went into her mum's car before traveling to the large two story cafe in the main street. It was a very scenic cafe, with a big balcony which had a good view of the landscape surrounding the town. They got a table on the first floor near the front window, where they watched the sun slowly going down on the horizon.

"Wow, these dishes all sound amazing... What are you going to get?" She muttered as she scanned the menu in front of her. Riley picked her menu up as well, and decided on the chips and gravy with the chicken nuggets. She was a sucker for nuggets.

The waiter came over and took their order, her mum ordering some champagne for the both of them as well. Even though Riley was underage, having the most important person in town as her mum does have its advantages. A few minutes after they ordered, the waiter came back out with a bottle of champagne and two wine glasses before telling them that their food will be ready in a moment.

They made small talk while they waited for their food, talking about the school and the town's decreasing population.

"Maybe there's just not a lot of prey left in the woods for the animals to eat, so they come down here and attack. How is your friend Isaac doing anyway? He is a funny one. Whenever he is over, he asks me to open the door so he can leave! He must be some germophobe." She asked after she sipped on her champagne. Riley swallowed the saliva in her mouth and shrugged as she swirled her drink around.

"He's doing okay, he found a place to stay." She replied, as she looked out the window. Riley didn't really want to talk about Isaac at the moment, but there wasn't really anything else to talk about.

"That's good, you know he is welcome to stay at ours if he wants to. Oh and, Riley?" She said, as she had a stern look on her face. Riley looked at her expectantly as her mum put her glass down on the table. "If he does stay over, please just -- use protection."

Riley's eyes almost popped out of her head, then she started to laugh a bit. Quite a lot actually, as she started to bang her fist on table out of laughter. Riley and Isaac? Together? Was her mum serious?
