On the following weekend, the day of the lacrosse game, Riley had gotten up with determination. It was time for her to talk to Derek, who was currently ruining her relationship with Isaac. She hopped into the shower and listened to some music, before getting out and drying herself off. She put on some warm clothes, shoveling down some breakfast then setting off to Derek's apartment. She just hoped that he was there.

She was fuming. She actually hated Derek. If it weren't for him, things would have been normal. Things would have been good. But no, of course he had to sink his teeth into Isaac and ruin his life. Isaac was a fugitive, and guess who's fault that was? Of course, Derek's. It was his fault for turning him into a monster.

She arrived at the apartment where she stormed up the building. She got to the apartment door, took a deep breath and banged onto the door. There was silence for a minute, before someone shuffled around inside.

"Who's there?" Derek asked, whose voice sent chills down Riley's spine. It was so deep and husky, and pretty sexy. But Riley couldn't admit that, obviously.

"It's Riley. Let me in!" She called, and tried to sound confident. She thought it worked, but Derek didn't. He slowly opened the door, revealing his face and body. He was shirtless, only wearing shorts. Jesus, Riley thought, this guy is crazy. It was winter, what was he wearing?

She stood tall, and straightened her back, before pushing past him and entering his apartment. She looked around, remembering how it looked the last time she was here and it being the same. She turned to Derek, who had closed the door and was now looking at her with his eyebrow raised.

"What do you want?" He asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. Riley glanced at his chest before darting her eyes back up to his stern face.

"I want you to stay away from Isaac. You ruined his life! You're ruining our relationship. And I think you did something to him. No, I know you did something to him. You somehow made it that he can't recognize me, or my scent, or whatever it is. He can't feel my heartbeat, and I know you did that! Stop trying to ruin his life, or, stop trying to ruin his life more. You've done enough already by turning him into a werewolf." Riley ranted, and with every word, the more venom she spat. She truly hated what Derek had done. He ruined everything.

Derek just stood there, ignoring most of what she said. He had no time for some whiny girl who's sad that he did something to her best friend. He couldn't care less what she thought, let alone what she thought about him. But one thing that did catch his attention was when she said that he did something to his ability to sense her, because that just wasn't possible.

"Slow down, Riley. I didn't do anything to him that would render his sense abilities useless. Maybe it's just you." He said, as he tried to listen for her heartbeat. He couldn't pick it up. Then again, if he had his eyes closed, he wouldn't even sense that she was even there. That was strange.

Riley frowned, and crossed her arms. "Me? I'm not what's wrong, it's you. Your fault. Your fault for doing this to Isaac." She shot back, scoffing at the idea of her being what's wrong.

Honestly, that's just absurd! There was no way that she was the thing that was off. She was the normal one. She was starting to think that her family was the only normal people in Beacon Hills, and that's saying something.

"No, I can't sense you either. Who else can't sense you?" He asked in curiosity, walking towards her. She backed up, hitting the table behind her full of books and scraps of paper.

"I don't know. Isaac and Scott. And I also don't appreciate you attacking Scott at the ice rink when he didn't do anything to you." Riley scolded, and he snatched her wrist and checked her pulse.

"Hm, you do have a pulse, but I just can't hear it..." He trailed off, then his eyes caught the claw scars that Isaac had given her. "These marks... These are claws, aren't they? Claws and fangs can turn people, but you're not a werewolf. How are you not dead?" He continued, and both of them were confused. She pulled away from him, her eyebrows permanently furrowed.

"Now I don't even know what you're talking about. Look, can you just stay away from Isaac? He doesn't need you." She said. She contemplated on asking him about that lizard, and why she wasn't paralyzed, but no, she didn't want his help. She didn't want to give him the opportunity to think about her more than he needs to.

Riley decided to leave after that, seeing that she's said what she wanted to and made peace on the subject.

Derek was beyond confused, as he had never seen something like that before. Riley Beacon was definitely different.
