Rowan's POV

I laid in bed that night, thinking.

Mostly about Mr. Hood.

I want us to be something, but unfortunately he's just a grey zone for me.

His flashy smile, his laugh, his touch, his desperation.

It all just makes me so happy, I guess.

My intentions are to keep away from him, but I would be unhappy if I ever cut him off.

Maybe, just maybe, I should keep him in my life, but as a secret.

I feel tingly and joyful when I think of him.

Maybe I like him.

Not a childish silly crush, I really want him.

I gasped and sat up.

"You don't like him. You don't like Mr. Hood." I said to myself.

I threw my P.E shorts in my locker and fixed my hair in the small magnetic mirror on the door of my locker.

Locking my locker, I sighed and headed out of the locker room.

I feel confused.

The constant question was going through my head: should I tell Mr. Hood that I have feelings for him?

No, because I've told him multiple times that I don't want him and to leave me alone. Also I've told him to fuck off and that I don't like him.

Yes, because his desperation makes me fall for him. The fact that he isn't giving up on me, it makes me feel special and wanted.

They both even out to a maybe.

Another no, he is 20 and I'm 17.

"Rowan!" Someone called out.

I looked around and saw no one.

"Here!" Mr. Irwin said waving from a distance.

I looked down as I walked towards him.

When I reached him, he gave me a warm smile.

"What's up?" I asked noticing the look of concern on his face.

"I just want to tell you, please don't get to attached to Mr. Hood. You may like him but-"

"There's no need for that, Mr. Irwin. People have found out about Mr. Hood and I, which is bad, so I've decided to keep my distance from him." I explained seeing relief wash over his face.

"Oh thank god!" He sighed in relief.

-

I sat in Mr. Hood's class working on my science homework.

"Hey, Rowan?" Mr. Hood said.

I looked up at him giving him a blank stare.
