Rowan's POV

Calum and I sat outside a fancy restaurant.

We had been served 25 minutes ago and I already shoveled all of my food into my mouth.

"Did your mother not feed you today?" Calum joked.

I laughed in amusement.

"Of course she didn't." I said before sipping my water.

Calum's face mixed with different emotions.

"I'm joking." I said wide eyed smiling at his expression.

Calum chuckled at my response.

"Here is the check. Have a good night." The waiter smiled before walking off.

Calum pulled out money and closed the small booklet.

"Let's go." Calum said cocking his head to the side gesturing for me to get up.

Calum and I walked out of the restaurant and down to the pier.

I wish I would have brought a sweater.

Calum grabbed my hand and held it with caution as if it was the most delicate thing to exist.

The stars sparkled in the dark sky. The moon shined lighting up the pier.

We approached the pier and sat down at the very end.

"The stars are beautiful tonight." Calum said giving the sky his full attention.

"Yeah, they are." I said looking at the dark waves.

"You know what else is?" Calum said looking at me.

"Hm?" I said blushing slightly.

"Luke." Calum grinned looking off into the distance.

"Very funny." I said sarcastically laughing.

"And that's why I love you." Calum said.

I looked at my water glass for a few seconds before I spoke.

"Wait, what?" I said in shock.

Calum turned to me.

"I love you." He said again.

I slightly opened my mouth trying to breathe properly.

(A/N _5sos-rejects_ you're lying?)

"You love me?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Of course I do." Calum said.

"Oh," I said.

Calum turned away.

"Why?" I said getting his attention.

"Why? The fact that you make me laugh and you make me happy is the most important reason. You light up my mood when I'm upset or frustrated. It only takes the sound of your voice to make me feel happy. Your laugh is like angels singing. Looks don't matter," Calum said holding onto both of my hands.
