Rowan's POV

"But, I don't." I said letting go of my hand.

Calum stood there for a second processing what she had said.

"I mean, I do love you, but it's fading away." I said.

I could see Luke enjoying ever second of this from the corner of my eye.

"But-" He before getting cut off.

"Don't worry. I would love to not pay for your next stupid surgery at this point, but unfortunately I've already paid for it."

Calum stared at me for almost a minute.

"What are you staring at?" I snapped looking behind me.

"Sorry," He said shaking my head, "I was just thinking."

"Calum, I think you should leave." Luke said standing up next to me.

He stood up and looked at me with angered eyes.

I looked down at the carpet, not even bothering to look at him.

"Okay." He said in a low voice nodding my head.

"H-he just makes me so," I said beginning to feel my cheeks burn, "Angry!"

"He's a dick." Luke said before sipping his glass of orange juice.

I sighed and shook my head feeling tears appear in my eyes.

"I feel like a fool." I whimpered as the tears fell from my face.

Luke looked up at me with a changed expression when he saw I was sobbing.

"You're not a fool, Rowan." He said pulling me in with his arms.

"I paid for his stupid surgeries and fucking treatments, his mortgage, his insurance and shit." I said wrapping my arms around Luke's torso.

"Don't be upset." He said running a hand up and down my back.

"I'm angry!" I said pushing Luke away.

"I know you are."

"I feel like an idiot for trusting him with my sanity. He's my fucking Social Studies teacher!" I said wiping the tears with the back of my hand.

Luke put his hand on my shoulder and turned my face towards him with his index finger.

"You are not an idiot or stupid. You are the most beautiful and intelligent girl I have ever met. You deserve way more than him. You are worth more than what you think you are." Luke said as he stared at me with his blue eyes.

I stared at him, watching as his facial expression grew smug.

"Thank you." I said leaning in and hugging him.

He wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly.

I pulled away and looked at his sweet blue eyes.
