Fresh Fruit Salad with Syrup

Ingredients: Fruit salad

1½ cups chopped mixed summer seasonal fruit

Syrup:

1/3 cup castor sugar

1/3 cup water

½ tablespoons fresh ginger shreds

1 cinnamon stick

½ nutmeg

Juice of ½ lime

Cooks Tools:

Measuring cups/spoons

Board

Sieve

Knife

Bowl/glass

Fork

Whisk

Wooden spoon

Steps: Syrup

Step 1: Combine all the syrup ingredients in a saucepan and stir over heat until the sugar has dissolved.

Step 2: Simmer uncovered for 2 minutes.

Step 3: Remove from the heat and allow to stand until cold.

Step 4: Strain through a fine sieve.

Fruit Salad:

Step 1: Chop fruits into bite sized pieces.

Step 2: Arrange fruits in serving bowl/glass.

Step 3: Pour over syrup.
