Narrators POV:
7 years had past. Piper was now 12 and Micha was now 10. Bob and Lenny had raised them and homeschooled them at the camp. They had taught the girls everything they needed to know in order to survive. All the mobs now knew Piper and Micha were not to be harmed. And considering their situation, Piper having special powers and Micha being a hybrid, Bob was very protective of them. Well, Lenny was too it's just that, he's the kind of skeleton that would cheer on the kids to run around and drive Bob crazy. The girls had a small recess before their next class so they decide to have a little competition.
And that is where the story begins...
Piper's POV:
Micha and I were lined up by the birch tree. I was on Drake and she was on Marty, a couple of spiders we had met last year at my birthday party. Lenny had invited them and they turned out to be a lot of fun. The Spiders were willing to let us race on them. I didn't know about Micha and Marty but Drake and I had a few tricks up our sleeve.
"You ready?" I looked over at Micha.
"Bring it." She grinned showing her fangs.
And with that Lenny, who was refereeing the race, began the countdown.
"3." We got into position.
"2." I held on tight to Drake.
"1-"
"HEAD START!" Micha screamed before speeding off into the forest.
"Wha-? HEY NO FAIR!" I shouted after her. I looked at Drake and he smirked.
"That's it. No more Mr. nice Spider."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marty may have been fast but Drake was faster. The four of us were head-to-head until I had an idea.
I whispered to Drake and he nodded. I held onto him tighter as Micha glanced at me, confused to what I was doing. Drake leaped onto the the side of the mountain and crawled across it. Him, being a Spider was completely fine. As for me, I hung on trying to stay up. Micha and Marty were clearly surprised by this action and I could see the frustration on their face. Obviously they hadn't planned any tricks themselves because instead of jumping on the Mountain right after us they kept trying to out run us on the ground.
Micha's POV:
UN-BEL-IEVABLE! I can't believe they just did that. How DID they even do that? We can't do that. It would take too much practice. Piper and Drake were now ahead of us. We had decided that the finishing line would be the camp. I could just make out the tents ahead of me. There was still a chance for me to catch up. Until, those two did their 'Grand Finale'.
Piper's POV:
We were approaching the end of the race. Drake had jumped back to the ground now but Marty, along with Micha, was close behind. I knew the one move we could do to win, but it was risky.
"Hey, remember the 'Final trick' we had, I think we should do it." I said to Drake, my eyes glued to the huge tree in the distance which would've been perfect for the plan I was forming in my mind.
"Are you sure Piper? We only tried it once and you nearly got seriously hurt." He looked at me with concern.
"Sure as I'll ever be." I sighed. Drake sped up towards the giant tree. He crawled up the side of the trees and then climbed on the top. He began going even faster and finally jumped under the big tree. The gap between the branches and the tree were only big enough for a spider. If I had stayed on Drake I would've crashed right into the tree. So I jumped.
