Piper's POV:
We walked into the village. Micha had hidden her wolf features the second we stepped in.
"Hey, wait a sec. Isn't this the Library?" Micha peered through the window of a small building with a bunch of bookcases in it. She ran up to the door and saw the sign on it said 'Closed'. "Great. Now what?"I chuckled at her.
"No, silly. Not this place. We're going to the abandoned Library."
"There's an abandoned Library? Where'd you find that out?"
"Milly." I shrugged. Milly had pretty much become the person you went to for information in less than a week. That bat sure had a knack for finding gossip, which meant she could find out just about anything else too. I walked over to a large, ominous, run-down building. The door was locked but I noticed the window on the second floor was open. Running up the walls were lots of thick, creeper vines. I yanked one of them and decided if these were sturdy enough. I put my leg in a gap between the vines and hoisted myself up. I looked down at Micha and smirked. "Coming?" She grinned and followed me up the vines. Before we knew it, we had climbed through the window and were observing the ancient Library.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked around. The were long tables and chairs beyond the railing, which was revealing the first floor. A spiral staircase sat in the corner of the room.
"YAHOO!!" I saw Micha whizz past me as she was sliding down the railing. I couldn't help but laugh. She collapsed at the bottom of the staircase, after she landed, from dizziness. While looking for any books about magic and things like that, something caught my eye. I didn't know why it did. It was just a dusty old book that someone had left on one of the tables downstairs. But seeing as I grew up with mobs, I followed my instinct. I walked downstairs and made sure not step on Micha. Then I managed to get a good look at the book. It was thick with a brown leather jacket. (A/N:Book jacket) There was a pentagram that almost seemed like it was engraved into the book. I blew on it and had a cough attack. Dust was everywhere. I pulled out a chair so I could sit and gingerly opened it to a random page. Surprisingly, it was just what we were looking for.
For centuries, people have reported sightings of white eyes glowing in the dark. Shortly after these sightings livestock would go missing and crops would be destroyed. This was how the legend of herobrine began. Although Notch and Jeb both have denied his existence, it is still believe he is trapped in the nether. Waiting to be released so he can take on his revenge. Since then it has been said that some people who have special powers can make there eyes glow too. Not fully white but a lighter version of there natural eye colour. However this is very rare and is only a story. Still waiting to be proven or debunked.
That was as far as I got before hearing a noise from upstairs. Probably just the Library settling. I reassured myself. I flipped a few pages ahead.
If one was to learn how the control this power they would need to focus. They would have to visualise it happening. But beware. Sometimes you, cannot control your powers for your emotions will. Anger is the strongest of them all . And when acting under anger, even for the right reasons, you may snap.
There it was. That word. What did this mean? I was deep in thought until I heard a crash was upstairs. I focused my vision past the book and onto Micha, who I hadn't even realized had sat down across from me. Her eyes were fixed onto the railing. "It came from up there." She whispered. I rose from my seat, slowly walked across the floor and up the stairs. When I turned my head round the side of the railing to see what was going on, I was startled by a face popping up in front up mine. I jumped and shrieked. If I hadn't been holding onto the railing I would've fallen down the stairs. After a few seconds I recognized the face.
"REMEER!!!" A girl's voice yelled from behind. I looked up to see Sav and Nix. I calmed down and balanced my self. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SCARED-er. Piper?" Savannah came closer as I finally stepped up onto the top floor.
"What are you guys doing here? I thought this Library was abandoned." I raised my eyebrow.
"This is our where we go when need to get away." Nixie said.
"Get away? What do you guys need to get away from?" After I said that I immediately regretted it. Sav's smile faltered and a silence filled the air. One that could only mean one thing. 'You shouldn't have said that.' "Savannah?" I asked, worried I might have ruined her usual bubbly, smiley personality.
"Let me explain." She sighed. Before this I had never seen her look even remotely sad. "Remeer and Nix live with me. Their parents went missing 'couple months ago so my Dad let them stay with us because they were my best friends. But lately he's been drinking a lot more and getting mad at me. He would never hit me because he's a coward but *sigh* let's just say our house at the moment, isn't exactly the calmest place to be. We only go home when he's on business trips-"
"*cough* Him drinking with his friends.*cough*" Nixie interrupted to lighten the mood. Of course, it worked and we all laughed a little before letting Savannah continue.
"As I was saying," She playfully glared at Nix. "Before someone rudely interrupted. My dad's not home that often nowadays but whenever he is we come here. He doesn't really care about us anymore." She finished and shrugged it off. Sav no longer looked blue. Instead she seemed unfazed by the whole ordeal.
"Now what about you? Why are you here? And where's Micha?" Remeer said joining into the conversation.
"To answer your questions, 1.) The other Library was closed with no way to get in. And 2.) Right behind you." Micha was leaning against a bookcase right next to the staircase. It looked like she had been standing there for Notch knows how long.
"Fair enough but why did you need to go to the Library in the first place?" I bit my lip as I always did when I was nervous.
"Well, why tell you when I can-"
"Show us? Yeah. We know." Nixie chuckled. I simply rolled my eyes and motioned them to follow me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had taken them to a dark area in the Library.
"Okay. So I think I may have more than one power." The three of them gasped.
"Really? Why do you think that?" Nixie was hanging on to my every word.
"Because. Last night when I ran away from the party, I ended up at a lake. I was crying and still wound up when Micha found and then, something happened. I'm not sure if I can do it again but I'll try." I closed my eyes and focused. I pictured my steel grey eyes glowing like it did just several hours ago. Once again, I felt a familiar light shining through my eyelids. I opened them and saw my friends, wide eyed and paralyzed with shock.
"Surprise?"
A/N: So I know this was late, but I'm working on some stuff that's gonna happen soon. It's going to be BIG. Hope you enjoyed as always.
