Piper's POV:
The second I closed my eyes, I was back in the 'space between the universe'.
"Alright, this is getting annoying." I muttered. "Why do you keep showing me things?!" I shouted. "Why do you keep showing me the past? Ever since the first time I came here you haven't said a word to me, you've just showed me scenes of my parents and Merlin's, and now scenes of the Orphanage."
I sighed. "You know what I think? I think you know I can't do this on my own. But because of whatever godforsaken spirit law there is you can't directly interfere more than you already have. You made me remember Rodney in order to find out he was Oakland. You've shown me stuff about the shadow man screaming at Griffin to do something to protect me, or Ghastly having these cryptic conversations with someone where I can only hear one side of it but I can't figure out why." I turned around multiple times before continuing.
"And I know you're listening. Because if you weren't then the vision would have already started by now instead of you waiting for me to fini-" I cut myself off when I turned around and found myself in the Orphanage hallway. "Guess I shouldn't have said anything, huh?!" I yelled to the ceiling, glaring at it.
"Well you only need the light when it's burning low.." A soft voice filled the hall, breaking the silence. "Only miss the sun when to starts to snow..." Followed by the voice were the gentle strum of guitar strings, each note hanging in the air as they played. "Only know you love her when you let her go." I followed the singing, stopping outside one of the downstairs doors. The inside of the Orphanage had been probably been remodeled sometime after I left, because the room didn't exist in what was now the Safe House. Opening the cracked door, I stepped inside.
"Only know you've been high when you're feeling low~" The voice sang slightly louder. "Only hate the road when you're missing home. Only know you love her when you let her go.."
"And you let her go." The last chord rang in the air, slowly dying out before he stopped it. From the chair he was sitting on, Rodney opened his eyes and looked up. His messy hair was hiding his brown eye from sight, and his crooked grin was still in place.
Younger-me sat on the ground in front of him, slightly to the side.
"Nothing?" Rodney raised an eyebrow before laughing. "Tough crowd." He messed up Little Piper's hair and she gave him the ghost of a glare.
"Rod!" Another boy barged in through the door, walking right through me. I wrapped my arms around myself and shuddered. That was too weird..
The boy had pale olive skin and black hair, his eyes were also so dark you couldn't tell the difference between the iris and the pupil. He skidded to a stop when his eyes landed on me and he froze.
"O-oh. She's here too, huh..?" He audibly gulped and tried to cover it up with a nervous chuckle.
"Morry?" Rodney got up, holding his guitar by its neck. "Something wrong?"
"Uh.. Why would you think that?"
"Because, you've been avoiding Demi the entire time she's been here. I know you're so scared of her you wouldn't go in the same room as her unless it was important." Rodney stared at him with concerned eyes.
"Well- ah!" Morry jumped when he saw younger-me was no longer next to Rod, and instead right behind him. "A-ah, heh, you're not to do anything, are you..?" He tried to calm down, steadying his breathing.
"Morry, what's going on?" Morry looked at Rodney and all his fear vanished. With a solemn face, he muttered;
"There's a new kid coming in." The alarm in Rodney's face was clear, Morry never broke eye contact as he continued. "And I think Brick might've already gotten to her."
